Wow, it was a bad Saturday for movie watching. I saw this before I saw Dr. Sleep. The Queen, rightfully so, bowed out of watching this. I vaguely remember the original being kind of funny which is why this found it's way into the Netflix queue. But it was way down on the list. There are about a dozen films that I wanted to see before this rose to the top. But Netflix decided I needed this one.
So, the Gang of Four is still riding out the Zombieapocolypse. They moved into the White House. They continue to be dumb. They continue to have mass slow motion zombie carnage. Jessy Eisenberg continues to spout rules for surviving. They continue to flash these on screen in giant 3-D letters. I guess it was funny the first time.
Naturally, they get on each others nerves and have to break up. Then they have to get back together because they must be in danger. Thus the movie.
It's all pretty dumb. The CGI blood splatters get to be annoying. It's also a game of what different ways can we kill the zombies. Tedious. It was all very tedious.
I wanted to like some moments, but it barely rose to the level of clever,
Lots of blades and bullets. Lots of dumb. Lots of Eisenberg being Eisenberg which is never good.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
