A Man with one of those Faces by Caimh McDonnell
#1
Currently, there are six book in this series about Dublin Police officer, Bunny McGarry, but it all starts with A Man with of those Faces. Bunny is the through line for all these books but in the Dublin trilogy which comprises the first three books (Although book 4 should be read before book 3. Yep, it's Irish screwy), he's a secondary character to the leads.

The first four books are set in and around Dublin. Books four and five shift the focus to New York and a new set of oddballs and characters.

They are mysteries but told with a massive dose of humor. There's lots of bumbling as the characters aren't too bright. But they all want to see justice done. Lots of in jokes about the Irish which people might not get. There's a lot of devotion to the game of hurling.

But they were fun. Almost the antithesis to the stories by Ken Bruen and Tana French.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
