The Magnificent Ruffians (1979)
#1
One of the nice things about being at my mom's - EL REY.  And Sunday is Kung Fu mornings - like going to church.

I don't know how this gem got past me.  Maybe it didn't.  Maybe I just forgot.  It's an excellent exhibition of the Venoms crew & director Chang Cheh doing what they do best - outrageous choreography in indulgent extended single-shot sequences of a dozen plus acrobatic moves. The fights are awesome and plentiful, so much so that you go numb towards the end, even with the ever-increasing displays of skill and timing. Weapons, betrayal, evil rich oppressor, righteous poverty-stricken simpletons, and fights, fights, fights. This is the kind of classic Kung Fu film that built the legend that is Shaw Bros.

What a treat.  Heart
Shadow boxing the apocalypse
