I'm invited to the screener next week but I just can't swing it. It disturbs me.
I don't think I can swing this either. I find this disturbing too.

I know the cameo. I know the cameo.
The film is fine. It was fun. It's the Golden Retriever of films, demanding to be loved. It answers questions you didn't know you had . And don't really need answers to. It's a film trying very hard to make meaningful echoes of the films that came before. And kind of succeeds.
The action sequences are very well done. Some of the witty bits are witty. Ron Howard assembles the actors he's worked with before so you see a lot of familiar faces. And like most of Ron Howard's films, it's journeyman's effort but doesn't rise to greatness.
Give me a couple of weeks, maybe a month and I'll be hard pressed to tell you what happens in this film. With the exception of Lando Calrissian's Droid who steals the movie.

I liked it. It was exactly what I was hoping for. I loved Donald Glover’s Lando, I loved L3, and I loved recognizing the mask that Woody Harrelson wore when they went into the mine. It was very entertaining.

What an oasis DOOM is in its assessment of this movie, compared to web articles I've seen and comments from friends I've heard.
No opinion of my own. Just an observation that I find a bit surprising.

That was better than expected. Kinda sweet in that ‘awww baby han’ way. Decent pacing and I loved the reveal - if only no one had SPOILED IT. Not you, Greg. You’re name drop went careening past my notice. I did it to myself scanning reviews. I would definitely watch a sequel to this just to follow up on that reveal. No lightsaber fights tho. And the music wasn’t as good overall. I won’t deny it as canon-worthy.

Actually, I meant I finally knew who the mystery character was going to be. I didn't mean that I actually knew the actor who appeared in the film. We'll talk later when more reviews roll in. Because I have do know one interesting tidbit about the character that I didn't realize, either.

If I didn't know that was coming beforehand, it would've rocked me.And to see his name in the credits just made me so happy. May the FORCE be with him. Damn spoiler review - I think it was in a damn headline too - couldn't miss it on the newsfeeds.
