This is what you end up watching when nothing strikes your fancy and you've been hearing about how funny this kids film is.

So, it does have a sort of HP factor because Eddie Redmayne voices the titular bear. But he's about it. Although the last Dr. Who makes an appearance. Although I will always think of Peter Capaldi as that strange bloke from Local Hero. And there is the lady who fell in love with a fish in The Shape of Water.

So, it's a kid's movie with a very kid sensibility. With lots of lessons about how to not be shy and how to never give up on your childhood. It was well done but didn't really move me. I think I know all the lessons they are trying to teach me.

But then there was Nicole Kidman who they had glammed up with an ice blond wig and big fake boobs. It was kind of distracting. But you could see she relished the role of villainess.

It was well done but didn't really move me. 

You weren't moved by Nicole's villainness because you are dead inside.

Actually, I don't know.  I haven't seen this.  And Nicole's villainness was the only reason I thought about it.  I have a soft spot for villainnesses.

Looking at it, I'm going to say it was a Dentist's jacket. But you be you. I'm sure Bill Murray would have liked it.

I was on my own, so I watched Paddington 2, just to be a completist. Plus, I heard that Hugh Grant was in it, teaming up with his Notting Hill co-star. They upped the HP factor by adding in Dumbledore. Old Dumbledore not sexy Dumbledore.

More of the same. Paddington makes friends and changes lives wherever he goes, even in Prison. Hugh Grant took the role to chew scenery for two hours, which he does admirably. No sexy villainess in this one.

So, fine. I think the young ones will enjoy it.
