The Expanse

Based on the space opera by SA Corey (pen name for two people who live in New Mexico and write stuff). Hews very close to the books, is very entertaining, but I would like to see how it plays for people who didn't read the books.  The authors are writers and producers on the show, which may account for why it stays as close as it does to the source materials.  Politics and in-system space travel and stuff blowing up. What's not to like?

I watched the first season and enjoyed it. I have Season 2 waiting for me on the DVR.

I think I have to go back and re-read the books to figure it out. I'm several novels behind.

Yes, but before you were declaring the deal done when it wasn’t. Now the deal *is* done. Don’t trifle with my feelings!

Wasn’t that when he switched from Kevlar knickers to that cutesy frilly pair?

Someone needs a KA intervention: Knickers Anonymous. Seriously, dude, I’m worried that it is affecting your health.

You know what the greatest tech advancement to humankind is now? Driverless cars? VR? Spy drones? Nah, it’s being able to binge watch TV when your not feeling well.

Almost done with season 1. Very engaging. The characters and world building are solid. Good intrigue. Thanks for the rec. I’m on board with the Rocinante.

I’m a few eps deep into season 2 and will stop for a bit. Amazon prime only has S1&2, S3 requires $. So I’ll take the rest slow in hopes that S3 comes available soon. Very enjoyable. I like the characters and the world.

If you get Sling again, you can get SyFy and season 3 is on demand...!

They did a really good job of translating the books to the screen and season 3 is the best yet. It helps when the showrunners/producers/writers are the guys who wrote the books.
