The Big Short (2015) by Adam McKay

The writers and director do a great job of livening up what would otherwise have been a very dry numbers-crunching journey into the twilight zone of finance. Explanations of the most convoluted shenanigans are made in unique ways, the fourth wall is not sacred, and don't be surprised if a stripper or two helps with the exposition. Colorful characters, lively presentation, solid in almost every way -- though it's probably not the best movie to see on New Year's eve to instill one with hope for the future.

Great performances from Christian Bale, Steve Carell and others.

Seriously, go see it and laugh until you cry.

Ow! Ow! Ow! The irony coming off the screen is hurting me.

Steve Carell does a great job. It's a really well done film with plenty of weirdness used to tell the story. My favorite film of 2016.

Lots of laughing amidst the tears.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit

Started slow, I thought, but I was quickly absorbed. Great horror film! I loved Steve Carell -- I think this is the best thing I've seen him do.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Best thing Selena Gomez has done since Wizards of Waverly Place.

I concur with the reviews above, except for tq's horror comment - it struck me as more of a comedy...a terrifying comedy in the end, but good comedy can prey upon fear.

Surprisingly entertaining sans sword fight.

Saw it again on the seatback cinema. Liked it again.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
