Starting to move forward on this year. I think most of you received my emailblast about this yesterday. Holla if you didn't and want to come out. All of DOOM goes to Greg's BAB crew. Hope you can make it.

I'm only coming if CCL allows us to photograph him.

...not sure if he's coming at this point. he's been somewhat of a setback of late. i'll tell you more about that later perhaps.

You're just adding that so Jason has something to film.
Since I'm just rattling off stuff: Banquet?

There will be a banquet, yes.
Just starting to put together the BJJ event now. It'll be an exhibition focusing on kids.
I'm majorly bummed because my dear friend Master Grace won't make it this year.

you know the elephant in the room? right now there's a sword on the floor. right smack in the middle of our shared office space. g2 left it there. she was frantically looking for a miaodao (a very unique katana-like two-handed chinese sword) which she knows we don't carry. i had a taijidao (a similar curved blade with an S-guard and ring pommel, but more of a hand-and-a-half sword). it was by my desk after a shoot. we used to carry them, but now it's hard to find a good source. i'm not sure where the one by my desk originally came from - found in the deep dark depths of our warehouse somewhere. it's a nice piece actually - heavy forged steel, nice solid fittings - so after that shoot, i left it by my desk with the pretense of putting it back. anyway, it's in the middle of the room now, unsheathed and sharp and we all have to step over it. i find this very very amusing.
greg, the banquet will probably be held at the world gourmet, which is this chinese all-you-can-eat buffet (yeah, another one of those) right on stevenson, near our office. i'll be doing the load-in as usual, meanwhile g2 et.al. will be receiving guests at the office. ed is your only doom bro for bab so far. i have two others who have offered to video for you from ymaa - jon, who is dr. yang's #1, and rii, your fav hard drive thief. if you'd rather i toss them to jason and just d.i.y. it with ed, i'm cool with that.

g2 sheathed the sword, but left it on the floor. it was still there when i left yesterday.
somehow, it managed to work its way back to my desk, in easy reach. that's where it belongs. i think this means it's mine now.
it's right next to a gawdawful new product, a crappy bokken that has a lame handle wrap which will come apart with the first usage and a hard plastic tsuba that will probably crack if it is dropped from waist height. g2 bought it thinking it was cool. i have to write some sell text for it. maybe i can sneak p.o.s. in there somewhere.

No idea why the sword moved? Did the Feng Shui practitioner pay them a visit?

i would luv to see what a feng sham master would say about our tournament, but the problem is we'd be forced to abide by that stupid advice. i'm sure it would involve fish tanks and that's the last thing i want to load in.
