Oh! By the way, it has been drippy foggy and cold lately. You should probably know that.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

I was warned. I am prepared with drippy fog layers.

Call time is 10 am which is later than previous years. That’ll give us time for breakfast at coffee movement. I could’ve slept in for another cycle but my circadians rejected that idea.

Today is going to be a good day.

Alas. If only it was clear, this might’ve been magical.

The Perseid meteor shower is one of the most intense displays of shooting stars every year

The annual Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak this weekend, sending bright trails of light streaking across the night sky.
With only a sliver of moon in the sky, conditions this year will be ideal for seeing lots of meteors.
“If you’ve got nice clear weather and a good dark sky, you go out just before dawn and you’ll see a Perseid per minute or so,” said NASA meteor scientist Bill Cooke. “That’s a pretty good show.”
Here's how to watch the meteor shower:

The Perseids — one of the biggest meteor showers we can see — occur every year in the late summer. Meteor showers happen when the Earth moves through fields of debris floating around in space. The Perseids come from comet Swift-Tuttle, a big ball of ice and rock that sheds pieces of dusty debris as it orbits around the sun. When the Earth passes by, those bits get caught in our atmosphere and burn up, creating the streaking lights. The Perseids get their name from the constellation Perseus, because the meteors’ paths appear to start out from this point in the sky.
This year’s shower is already active, but the main event will be this weekend, when the shower reaches its peak from Saturday night into Sunday morning. Starting around 11 p.m. local time Saturday, a few meteors will start to show up — maybe one every 15 minutes, Cooke estimated. They’ll keep picking up the pace until before dawn on Sunday, when “you’ll see meteors appear all over the place,” he said.
How can I see them?
During this weekend’s peak, the moon will be a waning crescent — just a small slice in the sky. That’s good news because a bright moon can make it harder to spot the meteors. Last year, the moon was full during the peak. Anyone in the Northern Hemisphere will have a good view this year, as long as the sky is clear of light pollution and clouds. You don’t need any equipment to see them, but you will need to give your eyes around half an hour to adjust to the dark. Avoid looking at your cellphone since that can ruin your night vision.
The Perseids can appear anywhere in the sky. So just “lie on your back, look away from the moon and take in as much sky as you can,” Cooke said

Still too much moon when I'm out walking at 4am. But I might see a couple over the weekend.

Shouldn't this be under gatherings?

We’re stationed at McLaren pass medical. First we were team 2. The new #2. But now we’re team psych like usual. It’s chaotic. Medical is in a new place up in the eucalyptus and we’re just a little tent. But we got power and a heater and some supplies. Plus chairs. All good in the foggy hood.

Gates are open

Here so we the sun was played (a tradition but I’m doubtful it’ll happen today).

King Isis on the panhandle stage which we are optimally positioned to hear. Pop rock with a dreamy female vocalist - nice to start.

Had some falafel nachos that were excellent. So crunchy I had to remove my earplug - we’ve shifted to earplugs which I disdain. But it’s to keep our radio traffic confidential which makes sense.

Nation of Language - a weak echo of Depeche Mode (who Tar doesn’t know).

Spent hours with a textbook roller gal and her husband. Horiz nystagmus, teeth grinding, wobbly & sensual. Got her back to the crowd.

Now watching Willow (Smith). Yep. She’s now doing a more rock like set. She plays guitar. Now stellar but not too bad. Huge crowd for her.

No idea. Where am I?

I’m at Aespa

First live dose of K-pop

Trying to grok it but it’s blowing my tiny brain.

Giselle is out with the flu so Aespa is down to only 3. They’re struggling to cover for her. Touch for the first K-pop act at OSL

A floor in the Soma tent collapsed. No one was hurt but the soma tent is now shuddered.

Last acts for tonight
Zedd has a good laser show that the fog is amplifying.
It’s not too damp. Kinda warm  even with the fog
This is the magic hour when the trees are lit so beautifully. Luv it

Zedd is killing it with the stage light show and the bass bombs.

Zedd’s schtick is to play pop songs then drop them into bass carpet bombings. It’s cheesy but everyone songs along  and the bass is devastating with the fog sound and trees. And the visuals are thrilling. Still luv lasers and fog. Always.

SOMA Tent, Outside Lands’ popular dance venue festivalgoers often visit to find respite from San Francisco’s chilly weather at Golden Gate Park, is closed until further notice, festival organizers announced Friday, Aug. 11.
The pop-up club, located in Marx Meadow near the northeast edge of the park, closed around 5 p.m. during the first day of the outdoor event “for the safety of our audience,” according to an alert sent to festival attendees.
Prior to the closure, a sign outside SOMA Tent said there was a 60 minute wait to get in and dozens of attendees could be seen leaving the space.
ONLY 25¢ FOR ACCESS!

A statement from festival organizers confirmed the venue was closed “to make a necessary repair.”

“Floor gave in… thankfully no one seriously injured,” he wrote.
Acts at SOMA Tent on Friday included Palestinian DJ Sama’ Abdulhadi, Glasgow DJ Denis Sulta and venue headliner Daniel Avery, an English electronic music producer and DJ from Bournemouth, England.

Had a final IPR as we were trying to leave.

I had taken off my radio and we were inching to the door when I’m called. I’m standing next to Hannah, a new supe and old friend, who has a radio and is impatiently waiting for a chance to say ‘he’s standing right next to me. She drives me over. The IPR is nekkid except for his underwear and a layer of vomit which reeks of chocolate. One posey is on one wrist. Two friends are there, plus maybe a dozen RMers. Most are staring dumbfounded but two are working with the IPR to get him 4 pointed. I accelerate the process because I’m done for the night. He snaps a wrist restraint - don’t see that too often, always impressive. We backboard him and cart him back to main med where an ambulance (lead by an old friend who still calls me the tripper whisperer. I talk to the friends, 1 is also shroomn. I ask ‘mushroom chocolates?’. The other shroomers says ‘yes, a half bar plus a pill’. He rolls. We walk home.

It always seems longer to walk home. It’s uphill and we leave from spreckles lake whereas we enter on 21st or something. My legs are tired.

A good day tho. We got to do some Jedi tricks. Our main Molly gal was at Sutro stage and Tara and I were nearly there because I had a feeling. Actually there was a lot of crowd reaction and I was curious why. Tara conceded my prediction - she was the only witness but she had to confirm.

Also got to see some good sets - all of Aespa, most of Zedd, enough of Willow, several other assorted acts, too much of Kendrick and we were just passing thru. A fine Friday.

Ha! No haven’t gone there yet. Not this lifetime. My tiny brain is too old and rigid to sustain such an assault now.

I had the Oaxacan cheese & nopales tamales for dinner last night. No line and they were filling but they needed a bit more sauce because they got dry in the end. Still have a leftover food voucher. RM gives is 3 $18 vouchers per day. That’s worth an average serving of something (some of the high end dishes go up to $40+ which is a lot to be served on a paper plate). Tara had a veggie mission dog which was spicy good but we both decided the culinary win for the day was those falafel nachos. May go back for their elote today. Luv elote and they have a middle eastern twist on it. Tara is thinking the veg momos.

She may go in late today because there’s a USF task she must attend to.

Aespa's Winter, Karina, and Ningning gear up to light up Outside Lands.
Aespa, the groundbreaking K-pop ensemble slated to make history as the first of its genre to grace the Outside Lands stage, will face a lineup alteration due to a member's health setback.
Giselle, a key member of the group, will be notably absent from the festival due to displaying symptoms indicative of the flu.
A statement from SM Entertainment, the record label representing Aespa, was shared on social media Thursday evening.
According to the label, she is channeling her energy towards recuperation, adhering to medical guidance and recommendations.
Despite the setback caused by Giselle's flu symptoms, the show at Outside Lands is anticipated to proceed with the remaining three Aespa members: Karina, Ningning, and Winter.
Their performance is scheduled for Friday evening as part of the festival's lineup.
The next stop is the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.
However, the uncertainty lingers regarding Giselle's potential participation in this performance.
Notably, she was also absent from Aespa's set at the Governors Ball festival in New York City, citing similar "health issues."
Earlier this year, Aespa unveiled their third EP titled My World, highlighted by the fusion of Death Grips aesthetics and K-pop vibes in the track Spicy.

Day 2
Breezy. Sun is trying to break out. Been hanging out at main med until Tara arrives (should be any minute now). Listening to Geography in the background, kinda dreamy alt rock but it may be the wind pushing the music around making it dreamy.
