What the heck? Why am I here?
I musta taken a few wrong turns…
I knew I shoulda taken that left at Albuquerque.

There’s a Filipino potluck here tonight which I didn’t know about. It amazes me. For the first decade plus of my RM journey, I was one of 3 Asians. Tonight is almost all Asian for an Asian band. This probably doesn’t mean a lot to you guys, but it means a lot to me. How far we’ve come…

I have entered the BiniVerse. It’s a thing. Look it up.

I’ve only seen 2 white people in the audience so far. Everyone else looks Filipino. The e merch line goes all the way across the building. Oh man. So many flip flops. Most dress is casual with a few gals decked out like band members.

This is a seated show. Im stationed alone at table service. Roving teams are supposed to break me. The charge nurse Emmy is veg, and she hooked me up with some sorta Filipino veg burrito.

The hall is empty. Completely empty.

Sounds like a sweet show. Lots of families - like 3 generations all together.

Lots of fan screamming but not nearly as piercing as Stray Kids - respectful cheers, right on cue so not to disrupt the music. Extremely polite crowd.

Here’s some context

This is the most wholesome show I've been at in years. Filipina strong, mang!

Home (well, svale) at midnight on the dot.

What a pleasant evening. Gave out a few earplugs, some Tylenol, some tampons, and a bandaid. Made $12 in donations. Had a delish mango & cream Filipino desert. Brought 2 extra home for Tara. She loves mangos.

That was not at all what I was expecting. I was ready to pan it but it’s so joyful, such an expression of Filipino pride & family, so wholesome. It’s like if Sailor Venus had a P-pop band. Pastel madness with hearts plus shakas.
