Thx, and back at ya!  Had a nice chat w/my daughter who is doing a house sit in Puerto Rico until October. I think we talked for almost 2 hours (it's been awhile. Lots of catch up). Then I booked over to Aptos via backroads, met up w/my son and we cruised the backroads in his fancy car to Watsonville for shrimp tacos and a gas station grill (they were very good!). Lots of great conversation. Stopped in the way back to let his pup, Merlynn, a whippet, out for a run and a pee. I popped into the crepe place expecting the weekly Bluegrass jam, but they are all at whatever the regional BG gathering is, so I chatted with Nick the bartender a bit and am now enjoying a cider before getting into the northbound beach traffic.

Sound like you had quite a pleasant Father’s Day, tg. Tara is a bit under the weather after her DC trip and our phone connection was bad (we’ve been having some issues making calls from within our bungalow), so we didn’t chat long. If she gets better, I’ll see her in svale this week but only in passing.

Today I have my long ass YMAA Monday meeting with the boss, then I’m taking Duke Yuki to verve to caffeinate for a live podcast I'm doing for Immortal at 3 (tune in! I don’t know where yet). There will be 4 of us, which I feel is too many, and it goes for an hour. I also need to make a quick run to a drug store today…

A new sofa is being delivered to svale today. Stacy is there to receive it (she has a client this morning - my cousin who recently had back surgery has been seeing her regularly). I’ll see the new couch tomorrow.

Off topic: Why is Sunnyvale getting new furniture? I thought it was primarily storage until it gets sold sometime in the future?

Fair question. In one universe, the svale house is sold and we use that money to invest in a new house here in the Cruz. In another universe, Tara reoccupies the house after passing the bar and getting hired by Orrick in Menlo and remodels the kitchen. In yet another universe, 47 starts a war with Cali and the SF Bay Area is incinerated nuclearly. 

There was an old sofa that’s foam was turning to dust. That was trashed. Somewhere along the line, a new sofa was custom built and delivered today (fortunately a handyman was there to help get it in and assemble it). I’m eager to see it tomorrow. They sent us like hundreds of swatches to choose the fabric and color. Hopefully it matches the floor.

Two YMAA meets and some clean up work from yesterday including rebuilding a graphic and more purging of my surface pro - scratch disk is full which was one of the things that jammed me up yesterday so I couldn’t open photoshop when I needed it. Need to call our financial agent to move some of my mom’s money. Then over to svale early to check on mom, then up to SF for an RM show at BGC, then back to svale for the night. I just realized that I won’t need to bring my laptop if I leave back for home early tomorrow. I’ll only have an hour or so to work there tomorrow morning:

The sofa is very nice. Maybe next week i will plan to nap test it.

I chatted with Tara briefly just now then we both turned in. She’s still a tad congested from being travel sick. I’ll get up and head up immediately, then work/write a bit, then hang with Duke Yuki at some park, then maybe go to a reggae at Shanty Shack where mi brudda DJ Spleece is spinning. Or maybe just hang at home and watch a Sammo Hung movie.

I have today off of YMAA for Juneteenth which is slightly ironic because I’m the only POC there. I can catch up on some Immortal & KFM stuff. Then iai tonight.

Skipping yoga today (our teacher is in Paris celebrating her 60th bday). Opted for a verve run instead. They reduced the size of their dog treats from milkbones to these tiny biscuits and Yuki surely noticed. I have an interview to conduct for YMAA then it’s over to Levi’s for METALLICA.
