Lynch Castle Estate Stories.
Today we send out the counter offers.

We had five offers yesterday. I convinced my sisters to counter offer all of them despite fears that by counter offering we would scare away the buyers. Today we'll see if I am right or wrong. No pressure.

I didn't screw everything up! A counter offer came back that hits the price point, I've been trying to get. The question is whether the buyer can actually afford the loan. It's also $50k more than the deal that fell through. Fingers crossed so hard at the moment.

Nice to be on vacation to escape all the home sale madness, except....

Before i left I was informed by the Title/Escrow company that one of the documents that showed ownership of the house only had my name on it. The document needed to be refiled with everyone's signatures and a special kind of Notary. Middle sister signed it and Fedexed it to me before I left. I signed it and sent it to Antarctic sister before I left. I stupidly used USPS overnight and the docs still hadn't gotten there four days later.

During all this Antarctic sister decided to break her leg while looking at a new condo for her daughter. She missed a step and fell. Middle sister flew up to take care of her. Which was a good thing because Middle sister noticed I had missed one of the areas to sign. Meanwhile the Title company is getting a bit frantic. They want to sign off on all the docs in order to close by May 27th. They have other documents for us to sign on Tuesday next.

I'm busy texting and calling the sisters to see how to finish this. Antarctic sister can't go out so a mobile notary comes in for her signature. Once that is done, Middle sister emails the docs to me. I fortunately have a digital signature to add to the document. I send this back to middle sister. When she returns to Santa Clara next week, she gets to go to the court Recorders and file the document we just all signed.

Good times.

at the credit union this afternoon to deposit some cashiers checks into the trust slush account I created here so I can distribute to my kids. The checks are in the name of the trust. When I give them to the rep I say that I'm not sure how I should sign and I'm told that no signatures are required when depositing anymore(!?!)

Actually Daniel Wu told me that.

Or at least he was the first to tell it to me.
