Nose to the grindstone 2025
It's only a V-6 so I'm hoping not too bad. We don't drive a lot unless we are commuting to Saratoga. I have to replace the entertainment/control deck because the previous owner shattered the screen. When I do that I'm upgrading to CarPlay because my Apple Masters made me.

It's got some pep.

Driving back to the Lair. Building a lamp crate.

Building a lamp crate is a euphemism?

Kung Fu, chowder fest at the boardwalk, maybe dancehall at the brewery, plus Yuki walks because Stacy is in a yoga intensive all day. A big fun Saturday inna Cruz.

All the house chores as I get ready to spend the entire week in Saratoga before my surgery. I dropped off books. Gassed up the car. Built the lamp cradle. Hung paintings. Stuff and more stuff.

Just finished yoga which kicked my butt (might have something to do with last night’s dancehall, or that I’m just a yoga wimp).

But I wouldn’t have traded a second of yesterday. It’s a glorious weekend here in the Cruz. The chowder fest was awesome and I hit it with maximum efficiency - in at 12:30 for recon & tix, executed my palm of attack at the starting heel at 1 and was out by 1:30 before the crowd closed in with a belly full of yummy chowder. My neighbor confirmed that the best chowders were at the west end, which is where I did my tastings but that was strictly based on the goofy names of the booths: grateful clams, clam lives matter, clamstock, mad hatter Manhattan, rocky horror clam show, 831 (my pick from Watsonville).

Then at the dancehall, 2 local DJs said ‘hi’ and chatted me up, including Robert Rankin, who I’ve listened to for decades. We’ve hung out a little but I didn’t think he’d remember me.

With all the bullshit going on right now, I’m grateful that I’m living in the time of amplified bass at least.

Today is cleaning chores around the bungalow & Yuki care. Then a special isi seminar this afternoon focusing on kumitachi (partner kata) which is always fun for me because I’ve got decent blade & distance control from being a swordsman since my teens. Then we’re taking the visiting head sensei from ny out to dinner at Akira.

It’s a good weekend inna Cruz.

Monday morning blues. Just work today.

I'm quite sore from the weekend, not hungover sore, good sore from yesterday's work outs. It was a good weekend.

It was a good weekend. Sunday off included extra sleep and I stayed in my bathrobe until H & I went out to meet friends for dinner.

Unfortunately, H had a Zoom meeting at 9:00, so no sleep in today.

Soon, it is time to run errands, maybe make a pitstop at Bob’d Donuts.

I know! Let's drive to Saratoga. Make calls. Clean up trash. Howl at the moon.

Get blood work done for next week. See about getting the EKG done. Meet with liquidator. Sell silverware. Pick out plates for mementos.

DM - is that screening at the AMC Saratoga? Merc article says they are suddenly closed "for unforeseen maintenance."
