Mercury in Retrograde

As I was coming through the Santa Clarita valley, I saw massive multi-car wreck on the Northbound 5. There were at least 6 fire engines on the scene and multiple police cars. The two vehicles I spotted were burned down to the frame. If I was going North on the 5 rather than south, I'd probably still be stuck on the freeway.

Merc is not in rec, so that could not happen. There are no car accidents outside of merc n rec

If only the government took better care of our highway infrastructure.

Well now, I'm not going to get into my mother-in-law's death, but today the interwebz cut out a lot during several of my meetings. Most were on the East Coast end, but one was on my end. Bother.

Also, we're going ahead with pulling up almost all the carpet in my mom's house. Underneath - beautiful old growth white oak in good condition. After some sanding and refinishing, it's going to look great. Meanwhile, I'm crammed in the den stacked with all the furniture in the house, kinda looks like I imagine Lynch Castle looked like before Greg's great purge. It's surreal.

My enabler buddy Ben crashed his car last Sunday. He was on Mt Madonna, a windy forest road which we know well because we drove it to Tara’s high school often. He swerved to avoid a deer, slid off the road and hit a tree which saved him from going over a cliff. Car is drivable but the body took a lot of hits. His insurance will cover all but $100.

The diabetes puck sent out a false alarm at 2am. At 3am, I spilled mat bedside glass of water over a brand new library book. And by brand new, I mean it was shipped from Amazon to me after I requested it at the library.

I was at the Red Rock Coffee open mic last night. A woman poet started her bit by saying that she was really feeling the Venus in Retrograde effect.

Is that a thing?

Every planet in our solar system goes into retrograde and each retrograde period has different qualities according to astrology. VenusNRet isa about introspection and reevaluating everything. We are in VenusNRet until April 12.

The whole notion of retrograde came from early astronomers thinking that the sun and all the planets revolved around the earth. If you believe that, then the planets appear to rotate backwards at times. They dubbed it retrograde motion and figured planets are just that way. 

Nobody but the most anal astrologers follow the other retrogrades. But there lies the trick, right? If you know enough about astrology, you can attribute anything to some random celestial event.

My cleaning device for my griddler disappeared. It's this little plastic scraper that fits the grooves of the heating plates. The heating plates are detachable and can be washed, but without the cleaning tool, it takes a lot more scrubbing.
