An old friend and client came by with her tiny dog. She and Stacy planned to take the dogs out for a walk, then she would get a massage from Stacy and I’d watch the dogs. I was working, like I do. When I finish for the day, I realize they’re late and I get worried. I check my phone and Stacy called but I missed it (She only calls if it’s urgent). I call back but get her answering message.
Worried, I check outside and a bit later they just pulled up. Our friend is in her underwear wrapping a blanket around her. Stacy brings Yuki around to the back door As we do when he’s been in mud. He’s not too muddy but we don’t want him tracking anything across our newish carpet. The hike went well but the tiny dog ate something unidentified on the trail. It triggered explosive diarrhea all over Stacy’s new car which she has been assiduously keeping clean (even with Yuki) and our friend’s pants. Stacy was astounded that such a tiny dog could excrete that much. The massage was postponed and our friend went home with her tiny dog. Stacy, although unsoiled, took a long shower. I took Yuki for a walk because he hadn’t pooped all day (he gets retentive when it rains sometimes and that was the topic of conversation before the great tiny dog crapsplosion). After literally dragging Yuki to one of his fav spots (we call it the pooping yard) he had a healthy proper movement and all is well. First thing tomorrow morning Stacy gets her car cleaned. I shall never doubt Merc again. Beware!

Big car accident at the end of our street. Cops all over the place. I talked to one who was looking for video footage that a home camera might’ve picked up. We don’t have one of those.
Must be 4-5 units here. On the positive side of Merc chaos, I bumped into 2 independent friends at Trader Joe’s this morning. I was just trying to get in and out efficiently. But it was good to see them.

It took me an extra 10 mins to get to Frederick because streets are still closed off due to the accident. It’s usually less than 5 mins. Sometimes I walk but I’m usually too lazy. Got a great parking space. That can be a struggle sometimes.
Frederick dog park is closed.

Quote:Two people injured after a car crashes into a tree on Seabright Avenue Tuesday afternoon; Santa Cruz Police Word is that the driver had a heart attack and the passenger wasn't wearing her seatbelt. They were taken over the hill to a critical care unit better than what we have here. This is according to an alleged neighbor on nextdoor. I just got the proof of my KFM piece for tomorrow and realized that I sent the wrong draft. I had a minor crash last week and the final version (or close enough to it) was stored in a temp file. I just fixed what I could but Kevin (the lone surviving TC Media employee) will have to tweak a few things tomorrow. He emailed me while I was at the dog park and I totally forgot to check in on it until just now. And I totally forgot to get more mayo. Merc is kicking my ass.

Unfucking believable!
Another accident. A block from yesterday’s accident, same street, other side of our street. Old lady’s car is up in someone’s yard. Side swiped another car that’s now in the middle of Seabright, with air bags deployed. I was outside putting my new registration sticker on my car license plate and heard the bang.

It would be great if the smoke alarm would stop going off in the bedroom

Pull the battery.
Or smash it. Those are my 2 smoke alarm strategies. Strategy #2 is for those alarms that have a 10 year lifetime so the battery is inaccessible. My mom’s fall yesterday threw me off my game at FXSF. I forgot to grab selfies with my KF brother Keith & my graphic artist Patrick.

Accidentally deleted my remote KFM access icon off my desktop display. Fortunately it was still in memory so I found it again after some digging. That was stupid but my eyes are getting bad - it’s messing with my graphics work.

Just opened a fresh box of Smith’s Lord Bergamot tea. Got it on sale. The first packet was empty. The rest feel like they have teabags. I guess that’s why they’re on sale.

Christina and I both got sick from going to my nephew's for Thanksgiving. His three year old was open mouth coughing all over the place. Starting to feel better, sore throat getting better, but still a touch of fever I think - feeling cold all the time. I don't think Covid but didn't test; I assume they would have tested. (Possibly a foolish assumption?) Doesn't feel like that anyway. Mostly running nose and post-nasal drip; none of that deep lung congestion.

Sorry to hear, KB. Last time I had covid, it didn't feel like anything at all. I was completely asymptomatic. Wouldn't even had known I was sick had I not tested.
My Mac just had a major crash, right in the middle of a big task. I'm rebooting and slowly crawling back to a functioning 'puter.
