my mom
My mom passed around 2:30 this morning in her sleep. The next phase has started. I am now an orphan.

That is terrible. I am sorry for your loss. It seems like we were just talking about her......

It had to be inevitable if she couldn't eat or drink. Will there be a service or memorial?

Deepest condolences.

Perhaps the DNR update was meant to be.

At least she was at home with family.

I'll be over next week again fleetingly. I'll let you know when when I know.

I’ll be over in the afternoon on Wed next week for a mom visit but then I’m darting up to SF for a gig. Thurs I’ll do my first meeting from svale and prolly head home in between meeting 1 & 2, but might be cajoled into staying for all 3 and grabbing lunch if you like. Don’t have to decide now.

But I do have that banjo for you…

As Steve Martin pointed out, it's hard to be unhappy playing the banjo.

He tried the downer banjo song on Let's Get Small - "Oh death, and grief, and sorrow, and murder"

Are we going to need a banjo thread when tg covers the mighty Zep on this banjo?

Or can that just go in Unusual Covers?

Speaking of accordions and banjos, here's a joke I remember Willie Nelson telling in an interview-

Q: What's perfect pitch?
A: When you throw a banjo in the garbage can and hit an accordion.
