I found this today, and there's no thread about bats (and it seems pointless to start one) but bats were mentioned up earlier in this thread so:

Tempted to make a Batmobile comment but I won’t.
Today is Kung Fu (indoors due to rain) and then working to get ahead for T-day. Sounds like the rain is coming down hard right now.

Christina has some work today, so I'll paint and play some music and sign some recent collages. Then I'll go to the office supply store to get some bubble wrap. Then we'll swing by Cost Plus to see about small gifts to give family at Thanksgiving.

Sprinkles are upon us. Walked the dogs anyway to wear them out so as not disturb The Queen as she teaches a seminar.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Listening to the rain is lovely.
Head off to the shop then dress up & leave early to go to the 40th anniversary dinner for The Fencing Center in San Jose.

If the Fencing Center is 40, how old are we?
Oh, damn.

40 years! Damn is right!
I remember chipping old paint off the walls with Peter Schifrin when we were prepping the original faculty for opening. I took many a lesson from him there in those first years. I remember exploring that entire building with Craig and maybe Alex. We got keys and found a back way into all the adjacent floors. Craig was obsessed with searching for a gun in some office drawer. Please remember me to anyone who might remember me (which is likely no one). Post pix! Kung Fu was rough. My injuries forced me to do everything at Tai Chi pace. But it’s a beautiful day here, post-rain fresh, with gentle passing giant clouds. I’m eating lunch on my veranda rn and can hear the surf raging against the sand. The air is crisp and yummy. Next is a epsom salt bath and then a crapton of writin…

The TFC bash was very good. It was basically a celebration of Connie Yu and that was A-OK with me. Jennifer & Marty Yu were there, Jesse Dogillo, Terrence Gargiulo, Primo Orpilla, Dino Hinton, Peter Burchard, Scott Knies and a new generation or two.
Even H had a good time.

Got his MLS, was working at a law firm, got married, got kids, looking to retire in the Philippines (wife is Filipina). This is what my old brain remembers

Craig came by Tiger Claw several years ago with his young son. We reconnected over the net. He was completely bald but more or less the same, except in dad mode. His sons was a handful - very young at the time - I amused him with a rebreakable board. That was the first one I’d seen him in years and the last time I saw him.
The Fencing Center party sounds delightful. It would be fun to reconnect with all those peeps. Alas, another Monday. It’s work, laundry, dog parkn, and preppin for the weekend.

It's either bald or grey. Or both. In about my only instance of being an overachiever, I'm doing both. My brother went grey fairly early, and now his hair is almost white, as was my grandmother's, but he has a lot more hair than I do.
