RIP Burt Bacharach

I'm surprised DM didn't post anything. He normally is our go-to memorializer. Even though he's probably not represented in your record/cd collection or streaming (except me, I've got a Dionne Warwick album), some of those songs are woven into the fabric of our childhood, like "Walk on By," "I Say a Little Prayer," and "Do You Know the Way to San Jose." And the song from Valley of the Dolls. And "The Look of Love." He was a craftsman of a kind that doesn't really exist anymore.

the Casino Royal soundtrack is great. The Elvis Costello/Burt Bacharach duets from the Austin Powers movies are also great.

I heard about his passing and was surprised because I thought he died long ago. So I didn’t give it much thought.
