Sheltering in Place
I know I missed a memo somewhere, but what is your countdown/count-up? 848/31, 849/32? I can guess the 800’s, but what is with the second number?

Signed,

I think injured days.

That makes sense. Since we are all old, though, and with your exception, we’re all virtually injured all the time. DM essplain yourself!

While you were off galavanting in Europe I added my days of pain. It’s getting hard for me to track things so I keep a lot of notes here. This thread has been part self reflection, part self pity and a lot of me trying to remember what the hell is happening.

5000 Quatloos to King Bob for being right.

To DM I’m sorry for the need to record the days this way.

KB seems to actually bother to read the D00M4M and it’s probably rotting his brain.

As for my health, it couldnt happen at a worse time. Y’all know how my summers go and my summer rollercoaster ride is launching right now despite the feckin pandemic. I’m getting offers like sdcc, stuff I e worked towards all my life, and if i wasn’t crippled by this goddamn stenosis, it’d be fire. Now I’m like wtf? Is this where I go out like Elijah? Inna ball o fiyah?

850\33: work I guess…

Just woke myself with a coughing fit. The nortriptylene gives me wicked cotton mouth and makes me cough, but it occurred to me that i should Covid test again. Someone I sat next to for the immortal dinner came up positive.

851/34: work, test, plus a CHSA meeting.

I was having a blissful festival camping dream. It had gotten dark and I couldn’t find my space but then found some one set it up for me. I was running amuck and the drugs were coming on when Yuki barked to tell me the box  arrived

852/35: Twin meetings then limp thru Kung Fu. It’s really just tai chi I’m doing now - KF at tc speed. I wonder if I’ll ever get back up to proper KF speed. Ironically I was just invited to demonstrate at a Chinatown festival as a vip. I don’t really demo anymore - especially not now - but rarely even back then.

852/36: Stacy, Tara & Alex returned late last night after a successful trip along the PCT from Donnieview lakes. They said it was hot - in the 90s - and had hoped to finish in some hot springs but they were full so they came home a day early.

Today I have one meeting and the usual workload. Happy Friday?

&53/37: I’ll hobble through Kung Fu - that’s been awkward but I’m grateful for my Kung Fu brother Ted giving me the space. Even though I just go and do my own thing regimen in a corner there, stuff I could do on my own, I’m more committed when I’m at a school where others are practicing. It’s been a struggle though. Not being able to vent my rebellious qi in over a month now is really affecting my ability to control my anger. But my pain hobbles my expression of anger too.

Stacy is talking about doing a hike. That would be good. I’m two weeks out from the next scheduled backpack trip and remain hopeful. She says I should try to make it to the Advocate tree at Nisene in full pack to test myself. That won’t be today’s hike but it’s a good plan.

I tested negative yesterday btw.

854/38: Yoga then a full work day (to make up for missing the upcoming Friday) - pack for the week and weekend, laundry, unclog the shower.

Threw my shoulder out working at my workstation a bit too long last night. I was struggling to finish a task and overstayed my welcome. Still hurts this morning. It’s so frustrating because my workstation is awesome - best I’ve ever had - but now my spine imposes a time limit.

855/39: I have some meetings and hope to get more workstation time because I’m trying to get ahead for the backpacking trip that I might not survive. Need to call the landlord about the shower - I managed to get it to drain again but oh so slowly. It needs professional attention. Then up to sf for a screener of Bullet Train - this one’s already paid for with my Den article. I’ll stay in svale tonight.

Ooooo! Bullet Train! I was thinking of seeing that one. You going to Alamo Draught House?

The screener is at CGV Van Ness

Someday I’d love to see something at Alamo…
