Moon Knight (2022)

E3: I’m confused about what the Moon Knight’s power parameters are. This is my problem with superheroes in general. If their powers are well defined, it gives me some context as to what to buy into. Here, I’m just confused. I do like the style of it but maybe that’s just because it’s a slick production as D+MCU is.

E4 got delightfully surreal at the end and I loved the end scene. I’m back in. I don’t really care where it’s going as long as the trip is entertaining, but I hope it’s bound for the multiverse.

I have no problem with Moon Knight. I don’t understand the kvetching. His powers are whatever moves the story forward, minimum 2 people inhabit the body.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

I enjoyed E5 - it appealed to the psychology grad in me. Oscar's performance switching back and forth between characters was solid.

As for the finale, I didn't expect it to go all Kaiju but was glad of that. There was a nice one-er fight scene sequence with Oscar and the twin batons.

I'm not sure I understood what happened in the end, even less so with the end of credits scene. It didn't quite come together for me.

It's the weakest of the D+MCU so far, but it did have some merit for walking like an egyptian. I liked Tawaret a lot.

The Scarlet Scarab struck me as too derivative of WW84 and not very Scarlet, especially in contrast to the Scarlet Witch in DSitMoM (not a spoiler - she's on the poster).

I also appreciated that it didn't rely upon MCU easter eggs and had little connection to MCU Phase 4, or any MCU for that matter. That's the MCU ace card up the sleeve, and without that, MK came off mediocre, but I admire the attempt to try and break away from the formula, even though it fails. Go back to the formula. I want to see Thor in MK S2.

Not D00M recommended, except for MCU-fanboy Greg, just for the pleasure of hearing him dis this.

Ep06 And we are out. I don't think the show ever figured out what it wanted to be. But what it needed was more Hippo God. The show just stumbled from one poorly executed idea to the next. Let's be in death's waiting room. Let's be in a temple. Let's fight on the streets of Cairo. Let's fight!

Some of the scenes were really fantastic but they didn't flow from one to the next. And at the end, plenty of loose threads with no plan to do more episodes.

I'm glad an artist I followed pointed out a great easter egg in the post credits scene. Although, I might have got that one on my own.

Ya know, I did notice that and figured it meant something but didn't connect the dots.
