Moon Knight (2022)
#1
Once again I'm very excited to see stories about a character I've never heard of. I also had this tremendous fear it was going to be on Hulu which meant I might have to pick up Hulu for a month or two. But, no. Disney+, baby, for the win!

It's all about the poster. I'm prepping DM for his next round of DoG articles.

This will likely go to another Den reporter because it's not my specialty, but here's to hoping.

Gaspard Ulliel, who plays Midnight Man in Marvel Studios and Disney+'s upcoming Moon Knight series, has died following a skiing injury. He was 37.
According to France Bleu, Ulliel collided with another skier in La Rosière, Savoie on Jan. 18. The actor was reportedly unconscious when medics arrived and was said to be suffering from serious head trauma. He was transported by helicopter to the Grenoble University Hospital and was pronounced dead after surgery. The other skier did not require hospitalization.
In July 2021, it was reported that Ulliel had joined the cast of Moon Knight as Anto Mogart/Midnight Man, an obscure villain from the pages of Marvel Comics created by Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz. His IMDb listing shows him as being credited in all six episodes of Season 1, which debuts on Disney+ March 30.
Ulliel is perhaps best known for portraying Hannibal Lecter in 2007's Hannibal Rising, a prequel to Red DragonHannibal and Silence of the Lambs. He was also the lead in the 2010 Martin Scorsese-directed Bleu de Chanel men's fragrance commercial.
Aside from Moon Knight, other upcoming projects involving Ulliel included More Than Ever, which is currently in post-production, and La Bête, which is still in the pre-production phase.

Tragic. Odd he died the day after the trailer drops.

The Superb Owl teaser. A few new bits in there especially Ethan Hawke.

One week out. Sad that it will only be six episodes. (Which could be the old joke: Boy, this food is bad. And there is hardly any of it)

But it's the MCU.

You love the MCU.

Aren't you in the 'Marvel rules, DC drools' camp?

You'll love it. You'll love it so much that you'll ask for extra bread to sop up the gravy.

So DM has foretold...

Well that was a bit of alright.

I know nothing of this character so it was all new to me. And I was engaged throughout.

I’m in.

tQ started off by declaring Moonknight a stupid name.

I did some research about the show but not a lot. I surfed the chatter. My favorite bit was Oscar Isaacs going around the corner to his neighbor Ethan Hawke and ask him if he wanted to be in the show.

A lot of the first episode was in the trailer especially the elevator scene, but it still worked. They got a lot of the things you are supposed to know out of the way early. The car chase was good. Ethan Hawke's choice of footwear was creepy. Can't wait to see more.

E2: This is becoming kinda Venom.

Could be funnier.

I confess I fell asleep halfway through and had to rewind but that was more about me than the show.

Ep02 Bit of a mess. A big info dump to get us up to speed. Lots of whining. At this point, I think everyone knows what is going on with Steven but they keep hammering it home. Ethan Hawke is doing a really good job. I think about him walking around with glass in shoes a lot. I like the depiction of Konshu. The bit with the suit was funny.

It needs more action.

Ep 03 Still a mess. They haven't set up the rules of the universe very well. They haven't explained or even hinted at why Steven and Mark are in the same body. And how does it work when they both don't know what happened in a scene? Is there a third person in the body? The is episode had a lot of Khonshu but I still don't understand his motivations as well. Arthur Harrow just gets to be creepy. It's all just a mess. I'm finding myself not caring.

Ep 04 Still not getting it. A lot is going on but it just doesn't seem to be working. The last ten minutes were kind of interesting because the whole show shifted but the show still doesn't make a lick of sense. Can't seem to find anyone's motivations. The two people in one body controlled by a third still doesn't stand up to a lot of scrutiny. Another cliffhanger ending. Maybe this will all come together beautifully in the end but it doesn't look like it at this point. If the whole show is somebody's dream at the end, I will be really disappointed.
