Sheltering in Place
Well enough. Richard Vidor, Rann’s age, decent foilist good epeeist, trained in Italy, made one national final in epee, worked as an underwear model when he was in Italy. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but a good guy. His primary coach, Stuart Kaufmann, also Italian-trained, had a massive stroke himself. Vidor had put on a lotta weigh pre-covid.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Yeah, Rann said they were housemates for the last few years. Rann left some messages and I called back but he was at the hospital when I called.

Rann and I reconnected recently. We bumped into each other at the Warfield years ago then fell out of contact then somehow he got my number so we’ve had a few long phone calls.

636: I met my impending deadlines enough so I can take my mom to the doctor today. I’m planning to just head over the hill, take her, and return, then go again tomorrow.

I’d like to get to the academy tonight because I missed a week. Mondays are Tai Chi only but I’ve got enough there to get some practice, if I make it.

And of course, I’ll be squeezing work in between. This week is gonna be like that.

Missed that. Foggy here.

637: I must head over early to take my mom to optovisoon to get her new glasses. She got a precautionary CT scan yesterday in the wake of her fall. Results came back find - no microbleeds - Brain is normal for her age. Then I work from svale - looking forward meeting tomorrow. Not much to say - just learning the spam programs. The team I am replacing leaves at New Years.

The eye doc was a longtime deadhead. He spotted a stealie I had on and chatted about it. That’s the 3rd eye doc deadhead I know and I only know 4.

638: Work, mom chores, home but on the way I have a hair appt at Station x with Jennifer. Looking forward to some pampering and catching up.

Another very nice crescent moon this morning. Just a little sliver, with the whole moon visible in shadow.

No moon this morning. It won't rise for another hour or so.

On my big day to sleep in, snapped awake at 4:05 and couldn't go back to sleep. I will not spend today atop a 12 step ladder like I did yesterday. I will probably finally finish the undead shed if the fog clears and warms up a bit.

642: I planned to sleep in too and yet I’m awake and it’s dark still.

Sunday’s are work & laundry days. Got some writing to do (I know I always say that but I do have a deadline tomorrow) plus I have some graphics to make.

Isn't every day deadline day at this point?

I only have a few hard deadlines per week.

But self imposed deadlines, yeah, those are almost hourly at this point.
