At this point, I know the whole tv series.

Holy fuck, it's Peacemaker.

S01Ep01 I was not overwhelmed. The show stars with a recap of the end Suicide Squad and we start with Peacemaker getting out of the hospital. I will say John Cena is fearless in this role. He has no dignity in the best way. Of course if my body was in the shape that Cena's is in, I might be inclined to run around in tighty-whiteys as well.

There is a lot of putting pieces in place to get the show started so there isn't a lot of action. It comes across as talky. And Mr. Gunn really likes to hear his characters say his dialogue. But some of the characters are fun especially the bald eagle side kick, Eagly. Peacemaker comes across as dumb or at least trapped in previous age of looking at things.

Towards the end, there is finally a nice fight scene.

I don't know where the show is going but fortunately, HBO Max dropped three episodes so hopefully I can get a better sense of the show.

From the previews, Suicide Squad, and all the interviews, Peacemaker seems to me like a redux of Warburton's The Tick, tho the emphasis is more on being disconnected from reality than just dumb and strong.

I deduct my Netflix. I do have a 'press' account which is where I see my screeners. However, to access that, I need a regular subscription. It's a bit annoying really, but there you have it.

Ep02 and Ep03 Just some punishing stunts in Ep02. Some good strange situations for Peacemaker. We finally get to the main why everything is happening in episode 3 and it's kind of okay. Still a lot of Gunn indulgences with scenes going too long. The show needs to be tighter in the dialogue department. But it's edging towards enjoyable. The show needs more Eagly. I'm still watching the dance during the title credits.

Ep04 Lots of talking. More backstory about Peacemaker and his father. One good but quick fight at the police station. It feels like a putting pieces in place sort of episode. Scenes still go on for too long as Gunn relishes people speaking his dialogue. More odd characters appear for Peacemaker dialogues including Matter Eater. Gunn kept putting up posts about Matter Eater on Instagram

Ep05 Time to go on a mission and blow things up. And the team starts to bond over the band Hanoi Rocks. There were some funny bits and some good fighting bits and and one odd fighting bit. Eagly continues to be the best character. And then the show ends on a cliff hanger.

Ep06 Another cliff hanger. Lots of fun especially after the Boba cliffhanger. This was big bad guy reveal day and their machinations. Peacemaker continues to chase his conscience. Peacemaker's Dad gets ready for some payback. It's all fun. It's all building. Two episodes left.

Also, every time I write a post, the Peacemaker opening credits theme song embeds in my head. (Do your really want to taste it)
