Cinnabar? Isn’t that the shop in the mall with the cinnamon rolls?
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

567: Didn’t get much done yesterday so there’s catch up work, plus I got to deal with Kaiser, check in on a friend having an ethical crisis, and hopefully make a laminate for another friend’s 60th birthday next week. Plus laundry.

I slept well last night...
...except for a strange new pain in my belly and a new dog barking in the neighborhood.
569: Still grappling with our medical and then must head over to my mom’s early for me telemeet because I have a lawyer call immediately after to discuss power of attorney matters.

I saw that in the Merc, and they destroyed the Chinatown several times. There was also a big Chinatown in Truckee that was burned when the railroad was completed. An attempt to burn the SF Chinatown was stopped by Emperor Norton.
We also never learned about Native American enslavement in California.

570: YMAA Telemeet first thing, then a bit of a longer stay at my mom’s for timing and to go over some paperwork, then over to TC to pick up another parcel from LK Chen (MOAR SWARDS! YAY!), check in & find out about my medical, then up to Oakland for a private dinner celebration for a dear friend’s 60th at Scott’s.
Do you think it’s a improper etiquette to bring swords to a party? Because I’m not leaving them in my car. It’s almost $1K in steel...

What if a fight breaks out? Better to be prepared. Bring the swords.

Speaking of quicksilver... it has about 2x the denisty of iron according to this video:
And why quicksilver?
Quote:First, mercury is mixed with the materials containing gold. A mercury-gold amalgam then is formed because gold will dissolve in the mercury while other impurities will not. The mixture of gold and mercury is then heated to a temperature that will vaporize the mercury, leaving behind the gold. This process does not result in gold that is 100% pure, but it does eliminate the bulk of the impurities.

572: A day with the family in SF to celebrate anniversary #26. We took the dogs to the dog park near the Bison pen at GGP (which is an awesome dog park), then picked up lunch at Keeva and ate at Stow Lake. Then we took the dogs paddleboating. Bottles had been kayaking before so he took to it well but Yuki had a lot of trepidations. It was great until the Blue Angels strafed us which scared the crap out of the dogs (not literally thankfully). Then we went back to Tara's place and got more take out from Dumpling Baby. A lovely day.
The only annoying part was the drive home when a giant spider dropped down in front of my face whilst I was driving back on 280. Made my flinch at 70+MPH. Feckin spider.
