Hold the phone...

Now there’s an Ayer cut of the first film? I still haven’t watched the Snyder cut...

Ayer wants to do his cut but hasn't yet. I think he's kind of ticked off about all the love given for the James Gunn film.

Yeah, right. What's the point of screeners if I can't tease spoilers?

SPOILER ALERT

It was good. Arguably the most entertaining DCEU venture so far. Margot's Harley is one of the greatest live action comic book characters of all time, and here, she is set to show off her extraordinary acting chops along some ridiculous action. Earns it's R rating and then some with extreme sanguineousness. Sword fights! Some brilliant action sequences. My lone prediction came true almost immediately. The rest took several unexpected turns, plus some truly unique moments. Worked on a lot of levels for me. No time wasted on backstory. It's woven in so as not to distract from the action. Laughed out loud several times. Actually I don't have any real spoilers because there's just too much ultravi fun and I wouldn't spoil them. I just want to see if Greg can avoid reading this before he sees it.

SPOILER ALERT

Again, not a real spoiler, just a wait-&-see if Greg ever gets around to reading this. Patrick did all the heavy lifting regarding this one given that it was a comic based story and that I did the last two which he just enjoyed. It's fun to collaborate with him. We wrote over a dozen reviews together over the years. He is the only person from Tiger Claw that I've kept in contact with socially. Although I feel I'm on friendly terms with most all departed staff there, Patrick and I forged a deep bond after 20 years, and we both miss our daily workday banter. We still call each other and just chat about stuff, what we're watching, etc, akin to DOOM here. I'm almost tempted to extend an invite to him to join DOOM but he's in his own circles of artists and such. He's somewhat landing on his feet in the comics world, struggling to draw like I'm struggling to write, and making unique connections. Anyway, we both enjoyed this film immensely. It's been great reconnecting at these screeners.

G-Man gonna hate it anyway.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Maybe. Sure, he’s pro-MCU and anti-DCEU. But he enjoyed GotG and this is James Gunn so it’s in that same vein, only ...

Spoiler Alert

This is James Gunn unleashed with an R rating so it’s gratuitously violent while retaining the same GotG comic sensibilities. Plus there’s Harley and Margot is her best Harley yet. Damn, I should’ve included that in the review. Maybe I’ll remember to do so when I’m doing the final edit. But all that said, this might be a breakthrough DCEU flic for Greg. We’ll see...

Listen to Harley...

Don't get too attached.

It's all about Harley. I'd totally watch a supercut of all the Harley scenes from her three films, omitting everyone else.

I am such an outlier on this film. Every review is glowing about this film. And yet, the film failed to do anything for me. It could be that i saw too many previews so I knew all the funny lines. It could be I think Starro the Destroyer was dumb and poorly executed. The Idris Elba character was almost the same as Will Smith from Suicide Squad 1. I loved Peacemaker in the one outfit that wasn't his Peacemaker outfit. Why was the Ratcatcher in prison? What was the point of Peter Capaldi's character? Amanda Waller needed another emotion. Why was Harley Quinn getting married?

I liked Polka Dot man. I wanted more from his character. I'll stop. I'm talking to myself.
