The Loki series is coming. Owen Wilson's broken nose features prominently.

Looking forward to this one. It’s the only one that I’m into (but the others have certainly won me over so far). Loki is a great character even tho he dead...

There is lots of death in the MCU. I think all their contracts were up and didn't want to come back.

And yet, here we are.

After Spock came back following one of the greatest cinematic death scenes ever, all bets were off.

e1 was okay. World building, although we kinda knew where this was going from the trailer. I do enjoy Hiddleston's take on the character. And it's a solid role for Wilson, although his nose looks weirder than ever.

The Time Variance Authority reminds me of the Department of Temporal Investigations in Star Trek. My good friends at DoG tell me the TVA first emerged in Thor comics in 1986. The DoTI enters ST in the controversial 'Trials and Tribble-ations' DS9 episode which was 1996 (great ep, if only they paid out royalties to the ST:TOS crew). So well played MCU.

I'm in. It's funny so far, mostly due to the Loki/Mobius interplay.

e1 may be too much of a slow burn for Greg tho, even though he's drunk more of the MCU kool-aid than any of us.

I think I saw the first 2/3rds of the initial episode in trailers. It was fun to see all that stuff as a whole but there were not a lot surprises. I also thought Hiddelston was doing a Loki impersonation during that time, as if he had kind of forgotten how to play the character and was getting back into it. It was a little two over the top. All still enjoyable.

But when Loki does Loki stuff at the end brought it to the front. All sorts of good twisty stuff.

Owen Wilson's nose looks terrible. It has the penis tip. It looks like the break is worse than ever. But I think the Owen Wilson schtick does good service to his character. My favorite character was the Indian gentleman who takes the tesseract. I also liked the bit about the infinity stones themselves. Because there is that question hanging out there, why do you need a time infinity stone if there is a place outside of time?

Of course if you know the title of the next Doctor Strange movie, it just raises a lot of questions about where this series is headed.

RE: Dr. Strange - I'm very curious about the mentioned Department of Nightmares. I hope Loki goes there.

Your "Indian" guy is actually Filipino and has a great real name - Eugene. Cordero was also in The Good Place and ST: Lower Decks. No worries on the racial confusion. Filipinos are often hard to distinguish.

I really hope the cat is a Flerken. Why else would they show a cat? The TVA doesn't even know what fish are. Please please please let that cat be a Flerken.

I hope all cats are Flerkens. Flerkens are the coolest beings in the MCU.

S1Ep2 It was good to get beyond all the clips from the trailer and into some new stuff. Lots of talking in this episode. Lots of shots of people looking at files. I think we are laying the groundwork for Loki Variant's motivation.

The production design seems to have a tiny budget. I always get the feeling there isn't a lot of world there if the camera pans to the left or to the right. Most of the money went into TVA headquarters.

I don't know who that character is at the end. I'm going to have to do some research. Still invested. Still looking forward to Loki on Odin's Day. (As tQ pointed out, it would have been funnier if the show aired on Thor's Day)

Agreed on e2. The Loki Möbius bromance is starting the have some chemistry. There tally bits are getting longer and more complex, and funny. Both Tom & Owen are well cast.

The variant mcguffin was good - I too want to know what was up with that and may dive into my Den colleague’s write ups for answers. Or not. I imagine the show will explain soon.

I’m still invested. Hoping for a major Loki act of trickery. Or a sword fight.

This is a police procedural in disguise. A twist on the odd-couple detective team that is familiar, but fun. Casting is good. I liked seeing Wunmi Mosaku from Lovecraft Country. I thought she was one of the stronger performances in that series.

Watching the TVA travel makes me nostalgic for Time Bandits...
