Sheltering in Place
And it's Earth Day

I didn’t do any to honor earth day. Couldn’t find a decent earth t-shirt, didn’t post an earth related selfie, nothing beyond wishing a happy earth day to coworkers on telechats. I feel bad about that.

403: Got to finish a Den piece and have some YMAA & KFM tasks.

404: sounds like an error

Kung Fu (where there are strange rumblings) and then my 1st RM gig in a year and a half. The Barber of Seville. It’ll be nearly a 2-hour ride each way but it’ll be good to don my RM-M65 again. I washed it last week, reset the epaulet pins, and sorted the pockets.

Strange rumblings? Group politics or biddness prollems? THis group has a school and a publishing arm, yes?
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

The headmaster (and the elder KF brother of mine & the cfs) is taking a 2 month break to write another book. He's handing over the school to his students to run for a while. The message was surprising because we've essentially been on break for the whole damn sheltering in place and it makes me wonder if something else is up. Things were just starting to stabilize there. The school does some publishing, but mostly they make their rent through rare book and DVD (even VCD) distribution, importing hard-to-finds out of China. I'm just about to head over there and see what's up...

I should also mention that today is Yuki's 1st birthday (observed - he's a shelter rescue - his litter was found abandoned by the roadside so we don't know for sure but today is what his paperwork says).

It is also World Tai Chi & Qigong Day.

Hmmm.  That does seem like a deflection.  Might be the truth, but I have to wonder about his health.  Hoping that today's visit brings clarity.

No more clarity. Not going to stress it. Que sera sera.

405: Sundays are soft workdays for me, my chance to get a jump on the week. Stacy is doing a cleanse fast so I’ll be supporting her in that. That’s it I think.

406: slept in today. Funny for a Monday. I dreamt about getting up and having breakfast. So I got up and had breakfast. Waste of time sleeping in sometimes.

This week is mostly about Krav Maga & kid’s films. I head over to my mom’s today instead of my usual Tuesday because I need to be home Wednesday to take Stacy to an appt.

Someone in my hood is jackhammering.

There's a Krav Maga studio kind of near your Mom. Corner of Remington and Saratoga-Sunnyvale I think, next to the 7-11. It's been there a long time. I first noticed it years ago when my mom was in the rehab facility near there after her hip replacement.

Yep. Krav Zone I think. A strip mall school.

I took Tara to a Krav school in SF for one of those full-impact weekend self defense seminars. The running joke about Krav is that they think they are the only ones who target the eyes and groin.

407: I have a special YMAA meeting regarding LK Chen swords and I have to help my mom with her taxes (final step - signing off and paying the accountant). Then home.

I fukked up on my timing. I thought my YMAA meeting was earlier so I've been scrambling to deal with my mom's taxes and chores, plus a fastball for KFM. Now I have an extra hour. I guess I'll eat some food now...

Turns out that meeting wasn't about swords at all. Go figure. It was positive however, I think.

408: Today starts with another YMAA meeting (I have 3 weekly telemeets and some additional special ones occasionally now). Then I take Stacy to Kaiser San Jose for an exam and hang out with Yuki until she’s done to bring her home (nothing serious but she may be medicated after). Then I should get to that Krav stuff.

I think I have more Den pieces dropping this week.
