Underwhelming

It ain’t no wandavision. I’m sure it was chock full of Easter eggs but I don’t remember the franchise well enough to find them. Maybe I just wasn’t paying that much attention.

I wasn’t engaged by e1 at all. It’ll probably get better, right?

It's slow. But it all seems to be set up. This is where all the characters are now. It's not an exciting place but there are hints exciting things are coming. It's like the first ten minutes of a Marvel Movie where you get to know the characters.

But there was one pretty devastating scene with the Winter Soldier.

Wandavision is going to be a tough act to fo follow since it was so inventive.

The best starting off point for TFATWS is going to be Captain America: Civil War because that's where we see Baron Zemo for the first time and get a sense of his motivations.

See now? I forgot who Baron Zemo was. I don't really care though. That's the thing.

I liked ep 2 better because now the frenemy bromance is happening.

They seem to want to deliver a crazy superhero action sequence in every ep. That's cool, although the effect driven stuff doesn't impress me as much.

I liked the Black Falcon bit.

Still on the slow burn until we get to the action. I, too liked the Black Falcon bit. I do like the Bromance although a lot of that was in the trailer. But I think we are through all the bits that were in the trailer. Fun Fact: Kurt Russel's kid plays the new Captain America.

I had the Baron Zemo discussion with tQ as well. She asked if she should know what the hell was going on. Baron Zemo is from Civil War. He drives that movie. Although he is only referred to as Zemo in that movie. Zemo maneuvered to get control of Bucky/The Winter Soldier in order to get him to do assassinations and drive a wedge between the members of the Avengers.

SPOILER ALERT Sharon & Ayo! Luv them both. Sharon was my fav character out of the Cap flicks because Emily VanCamp. She stole my heart in Revenge, which was one of the wackiest ninjette series yet. It falls apart in the end but the first few seasons are great soap opera. Luved EVC ever since. END SPOILER

This show now has my attention.

The slow burn continues. I did like the escape. I do like the relationship between Falcon and Snowman.

The town they visit, Madrapoor, confuses me because I always envision Majipoor which was the basis for one of my favorite Robert Silverberg novels.

Gee, I wonder who the Power Broker is going to be.......?

E5 was great. It opened with a top notch superhero fight scene and then took a sharp turn into ruminations about how the U.S. treats race and veterans. I was surprised at its thoughtfulness here. Then it got quiet and thoughtful, setting a few things up for the future.

How many eps is this supposed to go for s1 again?

It seems to be prepping for another season.

As far as run time goes, the six episodes of THaTWS are about the same length as the nine episodes of Wandavision.
