Sheltering in Place
Did they hire you?
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Not yet. We're doing that dance...

Believe me - I'll let you know when I get a full time job again.

Still grappling with EDD too. What a mess that website is.

186: writing & polishing that critique. Gave up on Edd until Monday. They say they are fixing their website but I think it’s another sign of the collapse of everything. Also should do laundry and clean the bungalow. Yuki dirties up the place quickly. He could use a bath too.

187: Monday will be a replay of Sunday since Sunday was spent largely in the veterinary hosplital parking lot covid queue. I did get laundry done, plus the YMAA review and 2 Den pieces almost done (need final polish). Today will also be dedicated to Yuki care.

188: I should finish my first episode review. These are much harder than I originally thought which is a bummer because I've commited to all ten eps. Maybe I'll start assembling my Ghost Story piece too.

Then I'll head to my mom's. She is treating my cousin to dinner which means I get to pick up dinner for four and bring it to my mom's where we'll all have a socially-distanced dinner. It'll be good to see them though. It'll be early too because they want to see the debate. As parents of a trans person, as well as intelligent people, they strongly oppose 45 despite being devout Christians. My cousin who's birthday we'll be celebrating was raised Quaker. I've met her late mom who said 'thee,' 'thy' and 'thou' which was absolutely charming.

189: Mom chores. Writing for Ghost Story, Warrior e2, some KFM stuff. EDD is still needing sorting. I'm sure the debate recap will be headlining. Go home.

190: Well today is going to shit. On the schedule was my weekly YMAA telechat, an Immortal telechat, the launch of our first outdoor socially-distanced weekday Kung Fu class at the academy parking lot, and some moon gazing for Mid-Autumn Festival. Sadly, the CEO at YMAA that I've been in contact with lost his dog of 11 years yesterday night. He had been grappling with bone cancer and they had been travelling across the stateline to get radiation. So that's cancelled understandable. With the AQI hovering around 100, all the outdoor activities are on hold to see how it is tonight. Immortal is still on after lunch.

I guess I'll write...like I've been doing for months now.

192: If the AQI is under 100 tomorrow morning, there will be Kung Fu practice and I sorely need to express some violence. Other than that, I'm working on next week's Warrior episode review for Den. I just finished the sidecar article for that, which I'm rather pleased with because it's a dive into some proud SF Chinatown history. Just need to polish that up tomorrow.

I'm writing more than I ever have in my life now. I only wish it paid more.

fair. Well, all of us except for J.K., George R.R., Stephen and a few others. But sure. Writers are cheap.

DAY 193: It's another lazy Sunday. I've got to make a card, first and foremost. I'm also participating in a steampunk panel for Clockwork Alchemy. It's a volunteer gig, a favor to Tom Badillo, another AFS alum and mutual friend of Yeti's. Perhaps he invited you too? I bit at it because it was different. It's as social as I get nowadays. It's not live so I don't feel that pressured. There are 7 participants and only other panelist I know is Tom. I'm hoping it'll earn me a free pass to the con, if it ever happens again. It was originally scheduled for Burlingame for March 2020, but then...2020. That con has been on my radar for a while, as has been the whole steampunk scene and the fairy world scene (not what you're thinking Yeti. Been there, done that. This is the elf and goblin fairy world gatherings which sound so silly that they're irresistable to me and yes, I know, I'll probably be trapped by sylphs to dance around a mushroom ring for a century or two, but woud that be much worse than sheltering in place all summer?)

I'm also doing laundry as is my habit on Sundays, polishing up two Den submissions for tomorrow and maybe starting on another episode review.

194: YMAA telemeeting that was postponed from last week. Some misc Den & KFM writing (that's a daily chore now). Some online banking.

195: KFM & Den, plus a zoom meeting for Immortal Stud. And over to my mom's for caretaking. But first, a beach Yuki walk.
