Well, okay.  So LCF just isn't maintaining this thread very well.  Guess it's up to me to give updates.

This evening she forwarded me an email, which in part says:

Congratulations! You passed the “In-Person” Test!

Woo-hoo!!! So excited for LCF! No way I’d ever have gotten the music questions! (And now for some reason I've got “woke up this morning, got yourself a gun” going through my brain.)

Right now I'm all made up with no place to go.

They asked for a recent photo and CF did the honors.  I'll ship that off with the questionnaire today and show up Thursday for a 1.5-hour Zoom session.  Looks like they're trying to hold to their usual schedule.

This morning at 10 am is J-time for LCF.

I'll be setting up my laptop next to LCF as a backup, because her microphone sometimes is problematic.

Mine works fine, except the built-in touchpad is problematic.

Sigh.  Computers.

She should be getting the link momentarily.  She'll email it to me, and I'll have the email with the link up on my laptop, just in case.

Then I'll skadoodle.

I feel ya on the 'puter woes. We thought we'd be running from Terminators but it's really like 2001 with HAL just refusing to open the pod bay doors.

LCF stuck with her laptop.  She says she thinks it went okay, but that she needed to answer more clues.  We'll see.

This is her third time getting this far.  I told her not to get discouraged if they don't call.  After all, it took Ashley Judd 17 screen tests to appear in Double Jeopardy.

LCF is currently in yet another ZOOM meeting.  Don't ask.  I can't keep track of them all.

I never answer the effin' phone, not unless a name comes up that I know.  It saves me a lot of bother talking to the IRS, or Apple, or the FBI, or some insurance company, about how I owe money or am about to go to jail.

But i suppose there are cases where one should pick up for an unknown number.

Like in LCF's case this morning.  Just now she checked the message and saw it was from Jeopardy.

She's trying to re-contact them now.

It turns out LCF isn't supposed to say much about this, except maybe to some family.  But I think I can share a bit -- as long as I adopt all of you.

LCF goes down to LA for filming around January 18 for a couple days.  It's unknown who will be host (Ken Jennings has finished his stint), and what other changes there might be.  They don't want to publicize this too much because of uncertainty of a covid shutdown.

If it proceeds, the timing offers LCF the opportunity to be a winner under two administrations.

She will likely have to drive down.  I can't go along.  I'll have to figure out how to give Halvah fluids solo (never tried that before).
