Enough cheese in that first paragraph to open a cheese shop. The finest in the district.

I need to see Fistful of Peanuts. Is Hugh Jackman reprising his role as PT. Barnum?

Day 79: I took some cyclobenzaprine (benzo) last night to alleviate my tmj. I have a cache given to me for my cervical arthritis but I don't like using it because it makes me drowsy and messes with my vision, my ability to speak clearly and my typing. It's not a major side effect, but enough to annoy me that I avoid the med (but it did take the edge off the tmj - no clicking or pain for a while ... it's wearing off). It kept me in bed until 10ish, not sleeping, just depressed and wanting to lose consciousness again.
My KF nephew, the one who has been helping me secure the 5BU position and who I had hoped to go train with this weekend, has gone radio-silent. It's making me nervous and adding to my overall glum mood.
Today is laundry and a call to my mum to get this week sorted. Probably will chip on my webinar presentation. Basically, I have to rant for 50 mins about weapons, which is easy enough for me as you all well know, but I want some semblance of coherence because it's live and will be recorded. Gotta get my facts straight. Spent yesterday brushing up on metallurgy.

It'll be 3 X 50 min webinars with the last 10 min dedicated to Q&A. At least, that's what is proposed so far. I'm making an effort to sort the info. My three proposed webinars are as follows:
6/13: Authenticity and Chinese Weapons
7/11: Reality and Weapon Combat
8/8: Weapon Care and Maintenance
We'll see how well they carry it off in the end. There are 7 presenters listed for June 13. I think it was 8 originally but one dropped out. An IT person was supposed to contact me this weekend, but I've heard nothing yet.

day81- not the usual tuesday. stacy has to go back to sf to get a crown and i must do my usual errand for my mom, but we only have one car that can make it (the handmedown jetta is still in transfer process so it's not insured yet). so stacy will drive me to my mom's early the head to her dentist. i will take my mom's car to tc to touch base with jonny and borrow some wushu weapons - short drive by trip - then head back to my mom's and do her errands. then stacy will pick me up and we'll go home. big busy day.

it's a balmy night in the cruz. we've got all our windows open. stacy is recovering from her dental work. i hit up betty's tonight because stacy wanted soft fries and a choco shake. it was fine when i arrived but then as i was waiting for my order, a swarm of humans arrived - like 40 high school kids, all potential covid carriers. the manager did kick a few out for not wearing a mask.
the house behind us in our lot that has been undergoing all the construction just got painted. so now our bungalow reeks of paint fumes. ew. it's either shut the windows and be stuffy in the bungalow or open them and cope with the fumes.
a lot of fireworks tonight.

Put in some time at the shop, had a long “catch up” call with a friend, cooked and ate dinner, made coffee, watched your buddy in Redeemer (fights were frickin’ *great*) and it was a good plot as well. Dude can act a little, too. Both fights against Major Henchmen were spectacular. Oiled up my boots and my Summer riding jacket. Going to toast absent friends now because that is where my head is at.
My thoughts on the warrior’s life are colored by my friends who didn’t make it this far with me.

Nice. I luv Redeemer. When we did the Assassin's Creed ep, I kept teasing Marko about him and his freakin hoodies. No one else got it because no one else really knew who Marko was except Rodriguez and El Gran Jefe was only on set for a day or two.
Plus there's that Scapino factor: http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...p?tid=3560
Funny you should mention the warrior's life. As I've been ruminating about this webinar I'm doing on Saturday, I've been reflecting on our teen days when we met to fence at that high school and started the 'weapon of the week'. Those were such days... who'd a thunk then that we'd end up making our livings as swordsmen for so feckin long?
Day 82. Still awake from Day 81. A slight yet nagging headache is keeping me up. The Tullamore didn't help. Drank a lot of water, so much that I'll probably have to get up tonight.
I need some night cheese, but I'm all outta cheese. I gotz dem outta cheese blues dis mawrnen, an Ima here to tell ya bout em.

Day 83. Got a gotomeeting job interview (part 2 of ymnotca). Then I must reach out to my Den of Geek editor with some pitches. Then I have a webinar connectivity test for Saturday, plus I need to polish my presentation a little more. Hit on some ideas last night that I must jot down before they fade.

Coaching clinic today at M-Team, day 1 of a 2 day clinic. One of our coaches who suffers from chronic depression is out, so that might make timing tougher for our reopening on Monday with the Summer Camps.
I am out of shape and not looking forward to the pain.
Onward.

As if any of us are really 'in shape' anymore. Own it.
Currently winding down from day 83. Had my whiskey nitecap and night cheese (cheese restocked. yay). Sleep soon come.
Day 84: I've been tasked to write a BLM support letter for 5BU. Delicate. I'm headed over there this afternoon for the first time. I pass it all the time but I've never been inside. Also started chipping on the next registration campaign for their doctoral programs. It's good to be working again.

I'm a tall egg. That is my shape, I own that. It is the anticipated +/- 10 lessons/day that I'm not ready for.
3 cheers for Night Cheese!
