Sheltering in Place
Hard for me to tell, commercially, as I only get to the shop every couple of days. Deliveries here at the cave seem reliable so far.

Today was another bank day. I naively thought it could all be wrapped up in one day. Nope. 1 day to open the estate account, one day to deal with Wells Fargo accounts and tomorrow to deal with Chase. That should, I hope, wrap up the bankage.

Also, banks are back to “Bankers Hours” and closing at 4pm, which also has an effect on the process. Met up with my friend Kamilla and took a masked, socially distant walk. She gave me the last of the masks that she refitted for me. She got a chance to talk about one of those “good samaritan gone pear-shaped” deals that is stressing her out.

It involves a friend of a friend, “can you help this guy” and ends up with her filing a missing persons report on a meth-using Russian National who was mugged by his dealer and has gone off the rails, whose mom keeps calling her from Russia “no, he is good boy, he has no problem! But don’t give him money, he will buy drugs”.

So, my day is just fine.

DAY 35: Actually it’s still day 34 for me because of this damn covidinsomnia. Either that or too much meth.

Too soon?

So today is a major shopping trip. Not looking forward to that. My hazmat suit is just a mask, gloves and a crapton of sanitizer.

I got one sleep cycle in.

We just got our federal stimulus money. It was direct deposited into our bank account. My earlier claim on Day 30 was presumptuous. That was the +$600 bump I got from EDD. Groceries, here I come!

If I were a carpenter/photographer who just finished his most recent project and had a crapton of cats and a goodly chunk of land, I'd start building the epic cat tree condo to rule the interwebz.  Just another surefire moneymaking idea like Drunk Monk & Yeti from the DOOMbro that's unemployed...

It's funny. When you have outdoor cats and you live way out in the country, you find cat-trees unnecessary because of the preponderance of actual trees.

This is why you'll never be an internet influencer. Link the trees.

So remember our dear back lot neighbor that moved out? She just gave us her car. It's a beat up Jetta but it still runs. It'll be perfect for short trips around town which is all we need it for. We can use it until it dies and then donate it.

That and our stimulus on the same day. Jackpot. This unemployment scene ain't bad.....at least not yet.

DAY 36: Got out for a nice little stroll along the cliffs.  We got our food box delivery so we have a ton of fresh food.  Mostly, I've been messaging with people reacting to my latest online article (see https://www.plumpub.com/kaimen/2020/shao...d-weapons/) It's drawing some good reactions which means I either nailed it or people are just really bored.  Prolly the latter. But it's been fun chatting with a bunch of people online that I haven't heard from lately - checking in with other experiences of the pandemic.

Maybe I'll write some more later today. Or maybe I'll just eat, bathe and nap. What is today? Friday? No Thursday, right?
