Or you could just take a deep dive into the DOOM archive, because that's what it's here for, right?

Truth.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

I think the Yeti's has grown too cagey. Plus, my father's liquor cabinet isn't what it used to be.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

I remember getting the plastic jugs for the folks from Safeway of the store brand vodka and gin.

I have had my press pass approved for SiliCON - emphasis on the CON. AdamassholeSavage has his name all over everything in this reboot and the line-up of guest is weak - Kirk, Starbuck from the original Battlestar Galactica and the original Hulk being the biggest names. See https://siliconsj.com/.
I'm not sure if I'll be going. Maybe. I can surely hustle up some work there. And I am craving a con something fierce. This will probably be like con-methadone.
Tara should be in the Bay Area by then and maybe I can hustle her up a press pass too.
The big conflicting factor is that Syl - Legbone's widow (wow that sounds weird, huh?) - will be passing through that weekend. She's called a gathering at my evil twin's new digs up in the North Bay, and it sounds crazy fun, full of very old and dear friends and illicit stuff. Maybe I'll do one day of SiliCON and one day up there.
We'll see.

Adam suchadick Savage’s peeps approved my press pass application for this weekend. I’ll go on Saturday. Might cosplay something, I don’t know. I gotta lotta stuff to do this week. Reached out to Ray Park in hopes of meeting up for an interview, or just to hang. The only other celebs that catch my interest are Gillan and some of the Expanse cast.
After sdcc, siliCON seems puny.

This is a puny con.
Did the whole floor before I finished my complimentary press room cups earl grey (hot!)
Saw Ray from a distance as he was signing. He never got back to me so I didn’t bother to interrupt.
The biggest line is for Gillan, unsurprizingly.
Some decent cosplay. This has become more of a makers faire than a comic con.
Had a nice chat with my old neighbor and his wife. That was fun nerd oneuomanship. He won when he said he has a drug delivering robot in real life (a big Kaiser thang)
Fortunately I can milk one booth for a story for Kfm. It sells fans. They gave me one - a hellfire club one which I first thought was a reference to the original club but now realize that it’s a stranger things thang. But still, we had a nice chat and I’ve been pondering a fan story for a while now.
Now I’m deciding whether I should pose with cosplayers or head home. Maybe I’ll grab some lunch…

Well that was lame. Worse than Wizard World because everywhere I looked I saw Adam suchadick Savage’s name.
Walked the entire floor several times and found nothing that appealing. Wrote the story in my head on the drive home (just missed beach traffic thankfully).
Saw Ray when his autograph line was minimal and thought about yelling over but didn’t want to be that guy. He never got back to me. His loss because I would’ve covered him on Kfm.
Had a delicious elote from a street vendor right out front for only $5 (compare to a $14 salad inside). That and seeing my old friend were the highlights.

It’s time to retire my Money Heist cosplay. I only got one reaction to it - a little kid. I thought he said ‘hella cow’ not ‘Bella ciao’
I need a new cosplay…

We’ll, Ray did get back to me - it was on my KFM email, which I didn’t pick up because I was in a deadline crunch for a Den piece. He was very polite, thanked me again for the cover story, and added that he’s not doing much right now so he declined the interview. I replied that I would be happy to email him questions about martial arts and left it at that. I’m glad I wasn’t ignored in the end.
I’m bummed that when the fan booth offered to give me a fan, I chose the hellfire one. I’m not into stanger things beyond the first season and I noticed they had a nice octopus one that I should’ve chosen.
Nevertheless I’m done with my article now and moving in to the next tasks - Cobra Kai s5

The hellfire club is Eddie's D&D group the kids join when they go to high school. It's a worthy tchochke you'd appreciate if you get to the later seasons...
