So I signed up with some screening website and got my first invite.
The invitation was very serious. No alcohol, no camera-enabled phones, ID required.
Dee Dee was going out with a friend so I decided to check it out.
I arrived over an hour early, planning to catch Pokemon at the AMC 16 theaters in Emeryville. I was immediately ushered into the line inside. I was #97. This was a 5:45 arrival for a 7:00 movie. Just a heads up.
They had a phone-check at the door. I turned over my beloved Samsung 5 Note Edge (not the exploding one) for a ticket and entered the theater.
Great - now I had an hour to wait with no distractions. Fortunately I was seated next to another movie geek who had just returned from an Austin convention. We chatted and tried to guess what the screening was. His guesses were "Passengers", "Arrival" or "Allies"
I'm being careful here because they photographed my ID and I signed a NDA. Greg may turn me in to his connections if I say too much.
Anyway, the movie sucked, which was a shame because it was right up my wheelhouse (dramatic biopic).
We filled out post-viewing surveys and left the theater.
