Hmm, good question. Might make for a good warm up. I know the film promotions group that I usually work with is working on this, but that doesn't mean there will be a screener (there wasn't one for Iron Man 3). Plus it would be a bitch for me to make a connection to Kung Fu to justify it, and even more of a bitch for me to be able to bust that review out on the weekend of our event. So that's really not an option, I just share it as a peek into my absurd lifestyle.

My Dragon Crew is trying to get me out on the Tuesday night prior to TCE for Stephen Marley at the Catalyst. That's very tempting, but the following weekend is California Roots in Monterey, so it's not like I won't get a huge does of reggae in May.

Will you be up early? Maybe a midnight showing....

I'm coming up Thursday. I'm shooting a friend of Zhenlong's on Friday at 10am

Zhenlong has that friend coming by the office too. He is allegedly a master of some renown. And Zhenlong is a hustla nowadays, trying to work it.

If it's the Iron Body guy, that is my guy. I reached out to Zhenlong when I saw him balance on two spear points with a kid on his back.

The screener is Monday but there's no way I can muster the free time to get a review up with the tournament that week.

Hmmm, the movie seems to be opening on Thursday evening.

We could go with my parents! Or I could shoot myself in the head multiple times.

Ken Watanabe majors in looking sad. Bryan Cranston chews scenery. David Straithern mouths dialogue not fit for mouths. Godzilla can't stay away from the buffets.

Good destruction Fu. But why does the Japanese monster destroy Chinatown?

Because old habits die hard?
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

You know there's another genre of movie where you just want to skip the story and get to the action shots...not enough monster on monster action.

Meh. Man in rubber suit Gojira was better IMHO. At least we got to see him wade through the SF buildings to the center of town.

I was excited to see one of my fav actresses, Juliette Binoche, in the opening credits. I thought, 'cool, maybe it's not as bad as they say.' Well, that didn't last long.

It's always kinda fun to see SF destroyed, even if its an alternate universe SF where the Golden Gate leads to Oakland and you can make from Chinatown's Confucius Gate to a harbor on foot in 15 minutes hand-carrying a missile. NOT. It wasn't even a dragon missile.

Hollywood sux. Back to Shaw Brothers and Bollywood.
