![]() Tonight, I pull the safe out of the wall. Tomorrow, I'm taking another load down to my folk's who have been kind enough to let me add to their horde, as well as more odds and ends to the bungalow. My family will follow on Saturday so I have a night to myself there and will indulge in some ultravi vids. A downside of the Bungalow is that the TV room is right next to the bedrooms, and the walls don't really mask sound, which will surely inhibit my late night vid addiction. Fortunately, a lot of my vids are subtitled. Plus I should invest in some headphones. I found my old Sony Boodo Khan headphones - a premium set back in the 80s - but the ear pieces had rotted out, so I tossed them. Might have to invest in some nice new headphones - maybe a pair of those signature Marleys (but then again, all those Marley label drinks are expensive and mediocre). As a side note, TC just got a shipment of huge mats, most I've ever seen here, stacks and stacks of them, so the office reeks of foam. I was never a huffer, but PPFY will surely testify on the power of inhalants after so many years spent around barge cement. Our doors are wide open and our air conditioning is on (making it rather chilly) and still most of staff is walking around looking like this: ![]() On another note, Saturday is 4/20 :weedman: There are some related activities going down in the Cruz, of course. There are no clubs in walking distance of the Bungalow, but that's probably a good thing. Nevertheless, in honor of the day, I might just have to join a Cruz club. Did you know that the gift shop outside what used to be Santa's Village on HWY17 is now a club? Seriously. Santa Cruz Mountain Herb. Flying the green cross on the summit.

It is someone that was recommended by our landscaper. Damn but that was the most fortuitous car crash ever. We move out of Castle Macbeth completely on May Day, maybe earlier.

My engraved DOOM beer stein, the one with DOOM on one side and my name on the other (didn't Scapino give us these?). It cracked in the move. Ah well, I never used it because the lip was too sharp. Bummer tho. Into the recycle bin with it.

...or as I taken to saying it 'verandaaaaaah'.
Just a few odd notes from the Cruz before heading over to the other side. I've misplaced 3 items that I packed carefully - my Shiva & Austerities Buddha (the new minimal altar is up lacking these two items) and my new book, Hallucinations by Oliver Sachs, which I've been looking forward to reading on the verandaaaaaah. I know the altar pieces are safe somewhere, maybe in one of the storage boxes at my folks' home. Major bummer about the book. I hope I didn't sell it back. Sold back a ton of books, and still have more to sell. I cut myself on a great white shark jaw just now. How often does that happen? It was given to me by my gramps. It's a small jaw, but still quite sharp. I still have yet to open that bottle of Laphroig I've been saving. It's only a 10 year. I was hoping that the people that put all our stuff in garbage bags stole my bottle of Jon W. red, but it remains at Castle Macbeth. Have to finish it this week, or toss it. My neighborhood is Bungaland. Everyone lives in cool bungalows. It makes dog walking very amusing.

The Shaolin Monk who offered to help me move, is now looking for a place to live in the Cruz. I think he's looking to set up a school as there are no monks in the Cruz yet. Seriously. Is that cool or what?

That makes me wonder, "Why didn't this great idea happen sooner?" Then again, I don't suppose Shaolin monks are all that aware of Santa Cruz unless one of their friends move there and they help them move.

He's a good one, very skilled and a thoughtful teacher, but I'm not sure he's got his visa sorted yet. That's a major impediment. Meanwhile, I'll keep training where I am, in Milpitas, after work.
It's our last week at Macbeth Castle. The paint fumes have been bringing hallucinogenic dreams that include sword fights, blood spitting and bollywood numbers. All of us are ready to be out of there. Now, to shift to my folks home for portions of the work week, that will be another journey. I have to dig out a space to sleep. Seriously. My folks have horder issues, although not nearly to the magnitude of some DOOM Bros folks. Nevertheless, the moving, discarding, and selling of stuff continues.

Our new tenants begged us to get in this weekend, and we're almost out anyway, so we're stepping up our exodus. Today I have a full work schedule and can't really do much beyond that. Tomorrow, the last garage cleaning. Thursday, the last dump off at my folks. Friday, to the verandaaaaah.

Do you have a management company taking care of overseeing the renters?

They were recommended by a former neighbor who was very satisfied with them. The company oversees about 80 properties in the Bay Area. We feel they under-priced our rental. With facebook right across Dumbo bridge and young facebookers not yet able to afford Paly/Menlo/Atherton yet not willing to go down to EPA, our location is perfect. They also fucked up with listing the address, which I mentioned a week ago. But the contracts are signed.
Last night, we sold T's Ikea loft bed. I remember assembling that by myself to surprise T as she was away on a trip at the time. In retrospect, I'm not sure how I did that, but then I'm not sure how I did a lot of the things I did when younger, which leaves me inclined to believe that it was all some sort of false memory or something. The buyers and I disassembled it quickly. One of the buyers had more allen keys than I've ever seen in a tool kit - I was like wtf dude? He collects them apparently. Wacky, but useful for Ikea crap. Waiting for them to arrive changed my schedule so I packed or tossed most of my loose garage tools and odds and ends. It won't take very long to finish that tonight. Then I need to finish my remaining beers and maybe that bottle of JWR. It's down to just two or three carloads, then freecycle the futons, and then Castle Macbeth will return to being just another suburban tract house, just one that we happen to still be paying mortgage on.

Tonight is the last night as Castle Macbeth. Oddly, I had a test anxiety dream last night, surely the result of the move. Haven't had one of those in so many years as it's been a quarter century since I've had to take a test. In the dream, it was like an EMT test, and I was dawdling despite the test going on. There was only one other examinee. I realized I only had this tiny pad of paper to write my answers on, but it didn't really matter. I guess it wasn't really an anxiety dream as I wasn't very anxious during it.
On another odd aside - I went to Fry's yesterday to get another charger from my burner phone. I need to set one up at the Beach Bungalow and another up at my folks house as I'll be staying there on odd nights. Turns out you can get all sorts of chargers for iphones and androids, but not burner phones. It would be cheaper for me to buy a new burner phone, toss the phone and keep the charger. Then, in the last stage of cleaning out my garage, I found another charger. It was for S's burner phone, which she had eons ago (she's now a loyal iPhoner). That burner was passed down to T, but she never used it and she's got a new better burner phone now, one that takes photos and has a slide keyboard. Glad I didn't buy that phone. I've had a lot of conversations with my neighbors at Macbeth, more than I've had in the 12 years of living there, and potentially less than I've already had with the new neighbors in the Cruz. T chose to hang one of KB's pieces prominently in her new room. The moon in the trees one, a blue field with a brown and copper tree across a white moon (not sure if that's the actual title). We have a ton of art - beyond KB's canvases and a few odd things of mine, S has some artist friends that have given us paintings and large photos, along with miscellaneous stuff we've collected over the years. Our new place is much smaller, 8/13ths the size, so we've had to store a lot. But that piece made it. T really likes it. I emailed a shout out to KB, just to let him know, as it's been ages since he's been around here. There's one beer left at MacBeth Circle, which I will drink tonight. I'm going to toss that Johnnie Walker Red I think. Tomorrow, we close Macbeth.

Yesterday, as we were doing our final clean-up of our Fremont house garage, a prospective tenant approached us inquiring about the property. Now, we are renting out our house through a property manager and they’ve already secured a tenant who is moving in this weekend. The guy that approached tells me that he saw our listing on Craig’s List and shows me the email that I’ve attached below (he was kind enough to forward it to S's email). It’s an obvious scam. The email came from Eugenehching@yahoo.com, which is not my account.
Quote:Hi, We've notified our property manager and I've emailed two of my Kung Fu brothers who are with the local PD.
