It's a lack of validation day. The Stonybrook Film Festival will not be validating Stro. They weren't supposed to announce until next week but they got their notices out early. There are still a couple left. I'd like to get into the Wallachia festival and I would really like to get into the Mammoth Lakes Festival. If it gets into Mammoth, I'm attending.

Um? Stro has just been named a Finalist at the 4th Dimension Film Festival. Sure. Yay?
I thought the 4th Dimension Film Festival was well in my rearview mirror. This was the on in Bali. I thought it was over and done with. But they are sending me an additional Laurel.

Stro won for the month of Nov-Dec 2020. Which I thought made us a finalist already. As usual, the film festivals confuse me.

Congrats again!
Bali is paradise. I remember thinking that I wouldn’t need much there - just enough to live - I could work as a janitor there and be happy. Such a beautiful magical place. And I don’t remember seeing any movie theaters there. I’m sure there were some but not where I was.

Lack of Validation Day from Venice. Stro was not selected for the Retro Avante Garde Film Festival in Venice. This one was delayed by a year I think. Entered just in case I could get a chance to go to Venice.

Lack of Validation day. Torino Underground Film Festival has rejected Stro: The Michael D'Asaro Story. And by implication me and all my hard work. There are two more announcements this weekend. One on Aug 20 and then again on Sep 7. And that will concluded the validation portion of the process.
HK has been in contact with Scott Knies about finally having our premiere at SJSU. I had initially talked to him about this right as the pandemic started and then, well, you know what happened.

Oh, what the hell. It's a validation day! It's actually a double validation day. I'm supposed to hear from Newport and Pasadena today. And once those two announce, the it will be down to Wallachia. No, I didn't think I would be playing this game this long.

Pasadena has opted not to validate Stro. But they did say I could apply again and maybe get in next year. Because, that's how things work.
