Mercury in Retrograde
The downside of Stacy’s Mac crash - she had to restart her wordle - she had a winning streak for a few weeks going.

So much retrograde. Too bad she isn't on FB. Stacy could join my Wordle group to save Friendships.

You should also try Spelling Bee on the NYT site. It's good.

I am in too deep with Wordle, Quordle, and Octordle.

I'm a writer. I get paid to play with words. I don't play games with my trade.

Back on topic, my mom's neighbor told me that both her mail and newspaper were delivered today. I put a stop to both, renewing the USPS stop (which you gotta do every month) in person two days ago. So annoying.

We are cleaning up the house and property to welcome the arrival of tQ's best friend from Chicago. In the afternoon, tQ decided she desperately needed some brisket for jerky. She went off on a two and a half hour drive to get it. She really likes brisket jerky. While she was gone, I took the opportunity to vacuum and wash the carpet. We have a lot of spots dedicated to Maeve's incontinence. The more chores I do Saturday, the more reading I can do Sunday.

TQ arrived back, successful in her mission. I told her to keep her shoes on to avoid getting her feet wet from the freshly cleaned carpets. She checked her shoes for dirt on them. No problem.

Except. Except. She decided to grab some fresh strawberries from the garden first. She grabbed them and headed back through the house to the kitchen. Just as she stepped on the tile in the kitchen she turned back and let out a pitiful scream. i asked what had happened. She was looking at the bottom of her shoe. Seems she had stepped in some dog poop in the garden without noticing it. Looking across at the carpet, you could see a sequential line of circular brown stains leading from her down the hall and out the back door. Yep, poop all over the nicely cleaned carpets.

The cops were on our street again. When Stacy got home (from seeing Jennifer B among others) there were two cars taking away a woman in cuffs. Chelsea, who just returned to the house across the street had a friend over and she said the woman had been ranting madly walking up and down the street.

Too many cops on our street lately. Way too many.

On a side note, if I tracked dog poop in on our new carpet, it would likely end in divorce.

I also got a bite right above my navel. It’s wicked itchy. There are worse places to get bit but it turns out that my navel is super sensitive.

Make that two bites in a row over my navel. Unpleasant.

My photoshop is getting squirrelly. I do some photoshop for YMAA designing the main weekly banners on the website and some spam graphics plus I’m prepping lams for Cali roots, so I’m in PS a lot right now. It’s been freezing and crashing randomly so I have to hit sav regularly or gamble on loosing work over a blip of glitch. When it chokes, I need to control-alt-delete to reset PS, and if I did t hit save just prior, I lose work. Frustrating. I hate loosing work.

Shoot. There was a meeting today that I had thought was next week, so I was a half hour late.

Good work!

Our food dehydrator stopped working halfway through making a batch of jerky.

My Mac has been wonky. This is on top of my photoshop issues (I run PS on my surface pro).

And I just bit into an Apple with a worm in it.

I was reminded of a dinner date in sf tonight. Totally spaced that out with everything over the last month but may tempt mercury to try and make it.

I was late for a meeting too. I misread the invite as 1, but it was 11. I caught it at 11:20.

Coincidence? Maybe. But I'd avoid eating any apples today. Just sayin...

LCF caught her foot on an ethernet cable and pulled her new laptop onto a concrete floor in the garage.  Cracked screen, no longer touchable.  But it sorta still works.

Next day she dropped a camera lens while doing photos at Stanford.  Not visibly cracked, but rattles inside and doesn't work.

Next day I get notice from Kaiser that I'm past due on a bill and they will sick a collection agency on me soon.  No information on the notice.  Had to call Kaiser (LCF did, she's better on the phone), finally tracked it down to the colonoscopy.  Turns out that I mentioned constipation, and that made the procedure diagnostic rather than preventative, with an additional $200 charge.  Not drastic, but annoying.  In my head it was preventative, and while I mentioned constipation--well, du-uh, I'd gone from very active to being mostly sedentary with two new hips.  Of course there'd be changes.  Anyway, a word to the wise.  Request a colonoscopy as a preventative procedure if at all possible.  I just felt that I ought to give a reason.
I'm nobody's pony.
