I didn't watch all of DS9, but I do remember this ep. They got the "wracked by poverty, crime, and tyranny" part right but that's what happens when you let illegal yetis cross into your borders.

"LL&P"? "Limited Liability & Pizza"?
No yeti is "illegal".
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Turn in your trekkie card right now. I must shred it with my Bat'leth.

Wot?! Illegal yetis are the problem! Taking all our jobs. Stealing, raping, and listening to that horrid eskimo rap music. Our tax dollars are paying for yeti healthcare, food stamps, and housing. They're living for free at our expense. They need to go back to the North Pole where they belong. We must build a wall!

I watched the final eps of TOS, TNG, VOY & ENT. I’ve seen them all before but I thought I’d review.
TOS didn’t really have a concluding ep - I suppose I should’ve gone to the movies
TNG & VOY have these time travel eps that are convoluted. They’re both bittersweet and create new timelines thus justifying what happens in Picard & Prodigy (although Prodigy could be in either timeline with timetravelling Janeway prior to her death or new Janeway after the borg portal). Not sure if Janeway Prime works like Spock Prime because it’s all Kate.
ENT is sad, a holodeck program being reviewed by Riker. Trip’s fate could’ve had so much more impact, especially on T’Pol but they ran out of time to explore it. That show has been somewhat swept under the carpet as it’s almost never referenced (LD had a joke about the theme song).
I suppose I should watch the DS9 finale but I wasn’t that into that series. I keep thinking I should watch it all the way through. I’m not even sure I made it all the way through the other series either. One of my coworkers claimed he went back and rewatched everything in order which is an undertaking for sure.
12 series, 48 seasons, 930 episodes (not counting the movies).Maybe when I retire. As if I’m ever going to retire…

Quote:William Shatner’s Captain Kirk returns one last time in an eight-minute short film
It follows the events of Star Trek: Generations.

William Shatner, who once sparred with Engadget over Twitter’s verification policy, has finally reprised his most famous role. Captain Kirk is back in the short film 765874 - Unification. This eight-minute story is live now on YouTube and follows the events of Star Trek: Generations, which was the last time Shatner donned his Starfleet uniform.
The short was made by a graphics company called OTOY, along with Paramount and Shatner himself. It technically exists to honor the 30th anniversary of Generations, but it also acts as a proper send-off to the first Star Trek captain.
Now it’s time to get into spoiler territory, for those who haven’t seen a 30-year-old movie. Captain Kirk is dead. He died on an uninhabited planet after trying to stop Malcolm McDowell from unleashing an extra-dimensional time ribbon called the Nexus on an unwitting solar system of innocent folks. You know the drill. It’s Star Trek!
Anyways, the short follows Kirk after dying on that planet. Is it the after-life or maybe the residual effects of the Nexus? We don’t know. There’s no dialogue to help us along. Instead, a de-aged Kirk, sometimes played by Sam Witwer, wanders an otherworldly realm until he eventually finds an old friend. It’s surprisingly touching, particularly for die-hard Trek fans.
The emotional depth is enhanced by the soundtrack, which is helmed by veteran Star Trek composer and MCU director Michael Giacchino. I knew it was him in like five seconds. The music reminded me of Lost, which was another show scored by Giacchino.
Barring some new life extension technology, this is likely the last time we’ll see Shatner’s Kirk. The man is 93 years old. Paul Wesley has stepped into Shatner’s space boots to portray a younger version of the captain on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Despite his advanced age, Shatner did manage to go to space a few years back.

Since yesterday was First Contact Day, i worn my DISCO shirt (which worked surprisingly well at the dancehall) and watched some ST eps. Been slowly chipping on DS9 but I’m still only somewhere in the midst of S2. It’s getting better for me. The writing is intriguing and im more engaged with the characters. Then I rewatched Mirror, Mirror from TOS. What a fantanstic ep that was. I love the whole Uhura / Sulu flirt fight. And Marlena struck me as much more risqué then ever. Mirror universe Spock is the best.

Totally forgot my point in posting this bit of trivia here.
The Empire salute is the exact same nazi gesture Elon did which leads me to believe he is from the mirror universe. That explains a lot.
