Did not feel the earthquake. Only read about it online.
Sorry for your loss and your hassles. Is your car starting to show a malignant yellow glow?

Maybe DM's car is going to go feral like in HP.
We went to the bank today to grab the pink slip for Christina's car. Donating it since it won't smog and so can't register, and doesn't seem worth the repair cost for a 20 year old car. She walks to work anyway.

Truthfully, I luv my CRV. It's a great car. It still feels too big for me because I prefer mini hatchbacks, but I got it knowing I'd have to move Tara to college and maybe move her out again, and in that role it has served well.
The battery fail a few weeks ago was bothersome but understandable. The break-ins have been a pain in the ass. It's always annoying when someone rifles through your shit, and even more so when they take one fucking document that costs $70 to replace. Previously, they didn't take anything. This time, they also took my amber night glasses, some pens and hand sanitizer (only one tho - they left the big good one in my neighbor's yard).
I've been reading the web about hijacking key codes. Apparently it's pretty easy. I'm debating about getting my code reset and keeping our keys in a foil bag. I need to look into how much the reset costs. I was messaging a KF brother who did it before this morning.

For the reg, I keep the original in my wallet and a copy in my vehicle (tank bag) along with insurance card. I also have a scan in my e-mail
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

That's SF smarts.
After the earlier pandemic break-ins, we kept the reg and insurance with the manual folder and took it into the bungalow between uses. Stacy and I share the CRV as we legally only have the one car (the Funkmobile isn't registered to us yet - thanks covid).
I did request an e-reg. It's an extra $5 but I figure I might as well have that.

276: Stacy pointed out that our misfortunes yesterday may have been related to the solar eclipse and earthquakes. Moving on.
I got very little done in terms of my own work yesterday. Instead, it was care for my mom and dealing with online police and dmv (actually, that wasn't so bad, except for paying the fee). I turned in my first Den Cobra piece and nibbled at a few others, but got distracted by The Expanse and decided I needed to escape into the belt for my own self care.
I need to catch up on YMAA today, as well as keep chipping on the Den Cobras.
My mom was doing well when she went to bed. She felt a little sore and the bleeding has staunched. Hopefully her healing continues to go smoothly. Assuming it does, I'll head home around lunch like usual.

There was also the Geminid meteor shower over the weekend. Dec 21st brings us the great convergence/Xmas star (jupiter and saturn appear on top of each other , making an even brighter spot in the night sky...for a few days, you should be able to see both at the same time through a telescope.)

I saw about ten meteors on my dog walk on Monday morning as part of the Geminid shower. Saturn and Jupiter are quite bright for me in the early evening.

281: Must write. Falling behind and stressing over it, which is making me block. Spent most of yesterday organizing my office. I got a lot done there, but the writing suffered.

282: I have a phoner interview with Richard Dragon. 5 of my 6 Cobra Kai pieces are submitted, but I’ll add another after the phoner. 2 of my YMAA pieces are submitted too - I have others to chip on. I’ll head over to my mom’s this afternoon. And I should work on my holiday cards. I’m barely doing anything for Xmas. Bah humbug.
