But it was a bust. I was surprised by the alert on my phone though.

I was in a telemeeting with my east coast office. When my boss heard my phone alert, he asked me if I needed to evacuate.

I regret not saying 'yes' and going out for a cuppa coffee

I got a letter from Kaiser this week saying my doctor hasn't been able to reach me and she has a message for me. There was a number to call so I just called it. Spent over a half hour working my way through the phone tree and two representatives.

Turned out the message was to tell me to get the app, which I got a several months ago. Good to know my monthly medical bill pays for postage and people to waste my time...

This morning's project is to get into the engine compartment without the ability to open the hood from inside the car. The battery is dead negating the electric lock. And for whatever reason the manual key won't open the door..
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Oof. That sounds like on of those painfully annoying modern problems.

Had an electrician scheduled to meet me at my mom’s this week to deal with the fuse box but he had to reschedule. I suppose I could do one of those screeners this Tues but probably won’t.

I thought I had a sure win with the double car crash and the tiny dog shitstorm but Scapino just took the lead for this cycle. And he's not even in the game here.

Still got a week left to go...

So 2 of our dog pack were struck today.

One had a car accident otw to the park - hit & run involving 4 cars at the intersection just before the park. She and her dog are fine. Her driver’s side has a scratch down the entire side and now the door is sticky.

The other locked her keys in her car and there was a 3 hour list of merc shenanagins until aaa got her door unlocked.

Scapino is still in the lead tho. Tough to beat a cardiac arrest. Not that anyone is trying to beat that…

And then I spilled all my crackers.

I was watching TV eating some TJ knockoffs of wheat thins with my latest obsession, wild mushroom brie. Yuki was fixated on me drooling, like he does whenever I have cheese. I adjusted my position and my cracker bag flipped in exactly the wrong position, dumping all the crackers on the floor. Yuki was shocked, but politely allowed me to scoop them all up (5 second rule) and then waited for permission to eat the crumbs leftover. He can be a good dog sometimes...

So was Yuki drooling or was he watching you drooling? It's a little unclear.

As a professional writer - not a technical writer - I like to leave a little ambiguity in my prose to allow my readers room to project their own ideas, sort of like poetry.

Seem to have lost my drivers license after giving blood at the blood mobile today. Great...

I came home and the dogs had pushed open the gate and were hanging out in the living room (they've been banished since my mom's stroke in September. I gave them a severe yelling and kicked them out. I've searched the house and can't seem to find any gifts they've left behind, but it may be like their version of "do not open until Christmas".

There is a massive hole on the edge of the back lawn-like area. I think Puxatawny Phil could fit in it. The dogs seem to not care even though they are terriers and are supposed to be bred for managing vermin. I found a live animal trap in an unopened box in the garage. If I can figure out the 1970-era instructions tonight, I may try to put it out.

I also discovered that when the fancy-ass plumbers replied the house with copper for $40k, they neglected to put a screen over the one vent in the foundation where they ran the pipes out to the sun cut-off. I have to find some hardware wire and block it myself.

Sigh

Just gotta hang on until Sunday.

Sometimes retrogrades work in your favor. Merc only promises miscommunications, confusion and chaos. Sometimes it works to your advantage.

Our neighbor just gifted DM some of his crop. It's rather large jar. Organic and locally grown (literally our backyard).

Too bad I don't smoke that much anymore...
