Ted Lasso (Apple TV+)
#16
Christina got a free year when she had to buy a new iPad to run her POS software at work, so we started watching this. (I've skipped over most of Greg's posts in case there are spoilers.)

I really like it. It's sort of a Jimmy Stewart kind of thing, where the wholesome kind guy gradually changes the people around him. And it's really funny. The supporting cast is very good too. DM would probably like this because he's sentimental even though he sometimes pretends not to be.

I confess. I'm very sentimental. I still get all misty when Toshiro dies in The Seven Samurai.

Oh, Ted Lasso, why do you hurt me so. Another good episode as the series hurtles towards it's conclusion. Much sad. Much funny. And BETRAYAL!

I was amused when I saw that. Can't wait to find out about Nate.

And just like that, the season is over. A really good episode with lots of happiness and sadness. And they set up the villain for next season. tQ and I have to go back and watch Season 1 again because I watched most of it on my own because tQ didn't seem to like it. Season 2 sucked her in and now she needs to see what she missed. After that, it will be time to cancel Apple+ because there just there aren't any other shows on the channel I am interested in.

tQ saw the first season with her mom. Bought Apple TV for mom while taking care of her pre- and post-heart surgery (she’s fine now) specifically to give her access to Ted Lasso. She loved it and immediately embraced Roy Fucking Kent and was ready to kill Nate at the end.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Ted Lasso has returned and all is right with the world.

Except not in Ted's World. S3 Ep01 Ted is in a funk because his son has returned to the US. Every Pundit picks AFC Richmond to finish last in the league which means they will be relegated. Keelie and Roy Kent have broken up. Nathan former assistant at Richmond and now the coach at West Ham United is being a total dick in his new job and mean to his former colleagues at Richmond.

It's going to be a fine season. My one problem will be keeping the Richmond team distinct from actual team Wrexham.

From the first episode, it looks like a more serious and less funny season, but that's okay. FYI Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) is one of the creators/writers of Shrinking.

Roy Kent should have made some Roy Kent remarks here:
