One of my medical friends (not a martial artist) sent me this. Made my day -
”So, Mark (my oldest, 10 today) was outside playing with a broom handle this morning and his movements reminded me of something...a google or two later and I showed him your heavy guandao form.
A little while ago he was working with some LEGO. I asked him what he was doing and he said he was playing Gene Ching”
I told him I was flattered but he should get his kid some professional help because no way this will end well...

We just went over our data usage limit so we'll incur a charge. We've never gone over before - the 75% warning came just a few days ago. Our rollover is the 15th - tomorrow.

Whew! We are experiencing throttling until next Tuesday. It has not been pleasant. tQ is attending the biggest conference of the year for her industry virtually. She's responsible for several panels. I hope no one needs me to upload a film. it will not go well.

Well, my mom isn't experiencing major plumbing issues, but there's a very merc-n-ret library issue. She gets this home delivery service from Svale public. It's awesome. They drop off a bag of 10 books every month and pick up the last batch right on her doorstep. It's all socially distanced and they call to warn her just prior. And they've been selecting decent titles - my mom is a voracious reader nowadays because that's all she's got beyond TV and the occassional call from a friend or relative (and me but I'm buried in work during most of my visits here).
We just got a notification that one of the books will be overdue soon. This is from a batch that was dropped off last week and the next pick up is in 3 weeks. It's one of those 2 week borrowing limit titles, and they check them out early for the home deliver so it becomes due in a few days. Why would they even include one of those in the monthly home delivery?
So merc-in-ret.

The Mountain View Library went fine-free months ago. So Sunnyvale did too?
I don't really understand how it all works. I know they're trying to cut down on staff expenses, and it's such a bother to track down deadbeats and break kneecaps or tale family members as hostages. So they're saving that effort.
But it takes forever to get a book or movie that I've put on hold.

I should check in with the Cruz libraries to see if they’re lending again. We had begun to tap their dvd collection and had a big stack that we could not return for a month or so when the pandemic hit.

Why do we never talk about Venus in retrograde since it does the same orbit thing as Mercury?
