The Rogue Retrieval by Dan Koboldt
This was poor. It starts with a bad premise and goes downhill from there. They need a stage magician to join their military adventure to a fantasy land. You are forced to accept the scenario otherwise the story doesn't work. And the book is rife with cliches especially the one where the fake magic user becomes a real magic user. Who could have seen that coming?
