Peter died of a heart attack on Dec 22 after a long battle with COPD. I just found out. Peter and his now widow Amy were part of the hog farm, deep deadheads who toured alongside us when I worked for the Dead. We had so many adventures up and down the west coast saving trippers and causing mischief and getting away with more than we should’ve. Like any hog farmer deadhead, he had a wicked trippy sense of humor. And he was a talkdown master, one of the best I’ve ever seen. He got deep into Jade, importing it out of South America. I remember having a long intense discussion about Jade weapons once.
The last time I remember seeing Pete & Amy was Dead & Co at SLA ‘22. It was a good reconnect. They were dead partners in crime, very dear.
I’m in that post-show crash now. Yesterday I was zoned out recovering. Today back at work and feeling those default world blues. And then hearing about Pete just breaks my heart.
