Guns Akimbo (2020)
#1
Harry Potter has guns screwed to his hands and is forced to fight for online viewers entertainment in the world of Schism! Woohoo! Entertainment!

Not so much for me. It felt like the world of the Droogs come true. So much nihilism. The fans at home cheering on death was particularly disturbing for me. There is plenty of ultravi. A bit too much. The director uses all the cliches of the violent world, including the copious bullet shells hitting the ground shot. But it was nicely shot for a low budget New Zealand thriller. But the CGI matching could have been better in several shots.

So, it's dark and depressing as HP runs for his life interspersed with funny scenes of HP trying  to eat, pee, and put on pants. But then at the end it gets all sorts of quippy with everyone tossing off one liners while the bullets fly and the blood flows. Then it becomes improbable in the world it has created. Suddenly, HP is a great shot and can take on a warehouse full of bad guys that vastly superior fire power. I had a lot of moments of 'Why the hell did he do that?' The answer, as always, 'The script called for it'

Plus, it was all very predictable. From the minute the film starts you know where it's going to go and how it's going to end up. You just have to wait for the beats to happen.

HP Factor is HP.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
