From a legal point of view, how do they get away with this parodic clip? I mean, it seems they'd be slap-dazzled with a cease-and-desist of epic and foreshortened proportions.

Lady Cranefly just brought to my attention that parody is allowed, as it is a creative take on the original. It adds value. Something like that.
Still, if your take could harm the original's value (hurt its market), that could be litiginousible.
So I'm still a little surprised a greatly foreshortened hand hasn't emerged from Lucusville to squeeze this puppy to death.
