Don't know if I've mentioned this, but I'm working the Oscars tonight -- I'm a scopist (editor) and providing tech support for the team of reporters that take down and transcribe the press interviews with the winners immediately after they win.
Greg thought you all might be amused by the text of a card I was given when they issued me my security badge:
"ATTENTION: - READ IN FULL BEFORE PUTTING ON BADGE:
This credential permits acess to one or more aspects of the 78th annual Academy Awards. It has been issued to you as a key member of the staff for the event. It caries with it significant responsibilities.
This badge in the wrong hands may subject Awards attendees and show persoannel to serious harm. It has he potential to render the enitre Awards security effort useless, and to allow an individual with hostile intent to do immeasurable damage.
Protect your badge from loss or theft. Know where it is at all times. Do not leave it where it is visible and unattended (on a car seat, e.g.) and do not wear it in off-duty situations where it may attract attention.
If your badge disappears under any circumstances, notify the Security Office immediately.
You have been issued a security badge. Your first obligation is to keep the badge itself secure."

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
