Nose to the grindstone 2025
I have to go to Big Kaiser for doctor visit 2 of 3 this week. This time with my shoulder surgeon.

"How's your shoulder?"
"Okay. See you in a month"

Headed home. It was quite a night with Duke Yuki at my mom’s. He wasn’t into it. Then I interview the Ballerina stunt coordinators & write it up asap. It’s a day in the Wick World.

My telemeet triple header is done. I'm going to have lunch, then work & write. I have a phoner later, and then Iai tonight. Then maybe some more writing. My Ballerina deadline got pushed back to next week at the request of the press rep, but I want to get it off my desk soon and move on to other things.

Duke Yuki let me sleep in today and I’m grateful. Today I must finish that Ballerina piece, sort my banking records (being freelance makes this a chore) and do some housecleaning (Stacy returns on Sunday and I won’t get the chance tomorrow so I need to pick up all the red solo cups, empty bottles, burnt roaches, spent hypos, that sort of thing*)

*onlu 2 of these are true…but I do need to vacuum & clean the bathroom.

Roaches? Who calls them roaches anymore?

I thought I was done with Estate shenanigans, but no. Off to Madera, for a change, to go sign some papers at the BofA. Really need to buckle down on my Ironcrotch.

Roaches are still within the vernacular. Stro always called them roaches. I can never forget him yelling 'eat the roach!'

This might be the motto of today. Happy Friday!

If I can get everything together today, I might hit up the Midtown block Party. I'll take Duke Yuki for the first part, until it gets too crowded. He's had fun there before and it'll be a good change of pace for the pup.

Meh. Gonna bail on Midtown. Still got my banking to sort plus some more housecleaning. Duke Yuki was disappointed but I just gave him a huge chew stick that Stacy left for him in her absence, and he’s engrossed with it.

Heading to Fresno to sell The Queen's 28 year old Honda Civic. I think we are going to use the proceeds to have lunch at McDonald's. As long as we stick to the dollar meal, we should be okay.

With terror-iffs, it's a seller's market. You might be surprised what you can get for it. Especially for a Civic. They replaced the VW bug as the energizer bunnies of the used car market with mileage up in the 200k and still going.

We let go of Stacy’s Honda Civic last year. That car was a beast. We got it stripped down, no ac, no radio, manual. Stacy’s previous car got rear ended while parked in SF, totaled, so she needed wheels fast and we couldn’t afford any luxuries.

Tara learned to drive stick on Mt Madonna road in that car. Then we gave it to her for her college years, figuring she’d kill it. But no. It came back. It was still going strong when we let go of it.

Today June bloom has struck the Cruz, right on time. I thought about taking Yuki to the Japanese Cultural fair today, but I just read where they only allow service dogs. I need to take him out before I leave, but right now, a Power Nap is in order. I was a tad hungover this morning from too much glenfiddich last night. My workout went ok despite that, but I’m feeling it now.

I knew.

The Queen drove the Civic forever but rarely. I don't think she was over 50k miles for its almost thirty year life.
