Hold the phone
Isn’t there a ban on posting woody snake pix here? What makes you think we wanna see your woody snake? That seems more like a pick up line to me…

The KFM forum is back online. Yay.
Bummed my Woody Snake article wasn't able to drop today. I worked hard to get that in on time. Maybe tomorrow...

Ouch
It’s a bad crash that will require a complete overhaul of KFM. Ironically, the last time I talked to Jonny, he had a lead on some PRC investors that were very interested in our site.

We’re building a patch page for KFM because the damage is so severe that it would be able to be re ticked easily. Jonny still thinks he can sell it to those investors. We still have the data, literally thousands of articles, but it’s looking like a complete overhaul.
I was toying with going to a screener of Love Hurts next week but I have no place to position a review now. I pitched it to Den but my editor went last weekend to cover it. Alas. Now I’m questioning the potential of all the screeners and events I attend as press for KFM. Without that outlet, a quarter century of work disappears. Such is the impermanence of the web. I often ponder the magnitude of my socials, like Facebook. It could all vanish in a blip.

RE: KFM forum
I'm getting 404s on Brave, Firefox & Chrome. It works on Safari but embedded videos are not showing up. We now live at http://www.kungfumagazine.net/forum/forum.php That'll mess up our SEO because the reroute isn't quite on board, plus its an http, not an https, but at least it's something? This whole experience has been devastating. I've got a quarter century of research in KFM - literally thousands of articles are housed there, hundreds of which are mine. With my mom going into hospice, I haven't been focused on this but it's just as well. Just like with my mom, there's not much more that I can do but lend support.

Thanks, I shoulda thought of that. It helps a little bit. The search doesn't work and the manual search, well, like I said, there are thousands of articles. Turns out our forum only works on Safari. Go figure.

D00M EYES ONLY
The KFM relaunch is slated for TCEC 2025. That's ambitious seeing how I've yet to see anything solid yet, but the proposal is quite promising. The weekend following is two Chinese martial arts tournaments: the Golden States (from our major competitor, a splinter vendor who formerly worked for Tiger Claw long enough to extract a lot of vital intel to launch his own company) and the 1st Gold Mountain Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Championships, the first tournament to be held in SF Chinatown. Glad we're a week ahead of everyone else. My Dragon Crew is coming together nicely. The CMAT union is coming along too with confirmations of two of the grand ladies of wushu coming to judge - Liu Yu and Li Jing. Jonny suggested that I should do an article on those two with Grace too. Sure, I'm all over that. One of our foremost master supporters lost 450 of our puzzle mats. He ran a tournament back in February, and the U-Haul trailer carrying our lender matts and his wushu carpets was stolen. The vehicle was recovered but all that remained was the carpets. Greg - you are still sorely missed. We still haven't secured a replacement videographer, but no one - NO ONE CAN MATCH THE MIGHTY BAD ASS BUNNY. You've spoiled us. Jonny send his best for your speedy recovery (I guess he saw it on sitonmyfacebook). I got the whole story on Victor (finally) and it's silly. Victor will be there this year, posing like he does.

The KFM relaunch will not happen at TCEC. They don't have it together. I'm not sure they have anything because I have yet to see even a blueprint.
The two other tournaments have impacted our judge pool - some of our top traditional judges will go to that Chinatown tournament. However, without any Tai Chi, we've got several Tai Chi judges that can switch over. We've also got several Tai Chi judges that came to the Judges' meeting last Saturday even though we have nothing for them to do. At least they got a free lunch. My Dragon Crew is in decent shape assuming no one else cancels. Had 2 drop out last week, but they were negligible. Liu Yu & Li Jing are not coming. Liu Yu is headed back to PRC for a reunion with the Beijing Wushu Team (Jet Li's team - she was his teammate) and Li Jing just opened her new school. That was CMAT BS. However, Sifu Bryant gave me a cool pen based on the Chinese imperial Tiger banner from the Met art store, so I am happy. Another master gave me a clock. Clocks are considered unlucky gifts in Feng shui, but it's a laser cut vinyl record with Star Wars images. And another practitioner gave me a pu erh tea cake. Not that fond of pu erh, but it's better than Lipton. Now he wants to get together and serve me tea (but he is in the tea trade, so that's cool). No idea if the puzzle mats were recovered. The crew that is rebooting the website will be filming. I am not instilled with confidence.

Boots on the ground
This may be the last time… One of our clients lost 500 mats he rented when his truck got stolen. 500 new mats came in Wednesday, replace by that renter. New mats take more work. They need to be stripped of their sprues (need a better word for that) and they’re slippery. 800 mats & 3 carpets
